Are you looking for an internship where you can:
Then a role within Supply Chain & Engineering (SC&E) could be a great fit for you! If you are interested, please apply with your CV and cover letter, including your motivation for either PES or M&O.
In general, SC&E is a diverse and dynamic team of innovators, visionaries, and problem solvers in the fields of Engineering and Manufacturing.
You will either join PES - Product Engineering and Servicing which focuses on the next-generation R&D and imagining and reinventing the future of Products and the end-to-end Product journey from the initial design, to managing Product Lifecycle Systems, their Sustainable Footprint and the ultimate retiring and replacement.
Or you will join M&O - Manufacturing and Operations which focuses on digital Manufacturing, Intelligent Asset Management, and Capital Projects in Utilities. The topic of your graduation internship could be around grid infrastructure, challenges of the energy transition (in the utilities industry) and any other innovations you can find on the factory floor to provide a digital transformation at the core of Manufacturing.
As an intern at SC&E, you will work in collaboration with our colleagues to conduct your thesis research and assignment in one of the relevant research areas listed below. Key is that your thesis will research challenges or opportunities we see at our clients and that new business solutions or opportunities can be defined based on the input of our experts. During your internship you’ll connect with many SC&E colleagues from Accenture and gain valuable insight into the world of strategy & consulting. Your work location is at the main office in Amsterdam, where you will be required to be present at least 3 days a week.
Product Engineering and Servicing (PES)
Within PES we specialize in companies that focus on product development, so we are mainly active in Research & Development departments. Here we enable industry leading clients to optimize their business processes and efficiency.
Each year we have multiple business relevant thesis topics prepared around these topics. If instead you are looking for a role that focusses more on product design itself, we also have internships available within Accenture’s Industrial Design team via a separate vacancy.
Manufacturing and Operations (M&O)
Within M&O we are currently looking for research focused on Intelligent Asset Management, Capital Projects in Utilities, and Digital Manufacturing. We transform production plants, assets, and work processes to deliver operational excellence. By prioritizing, optimizing, digitizing, connecting, and automating our clients’ operations through integrated solutions, AI, IoT, mobility, and platforms that will unlock additional value and productivity within and across production sites. It’s a chance to apply your engineering skills to deliver meaningful, high-impact solutions.
Intelligent Asset Management: You will support transforming the way our clients take care of their physical assets such as machines, buildings and equipment. You will collaborate with us to create data-driven and intelligent solutions such as Predictive Maintenance and Asset Performance Management to improve efficiency, reduce downtime and increase sustainability while reducing maintenance costs.
Capital Projects in Utilities: You will support utility companies in driving the energy transition by developing new solutions and strategies to build new infrastructure, manage grid congestion, and optimize asset performance.
If you're interested in writing a thesis, possible topics range from AI applications in the utility sector, data driven predictive maintenance, rethinking the construction process (and standardization) for large-scale infrastructure projects, topics related to the operation and efficiency of the grid, creating new propositions for dark factories, and digital transformation of manufacturing processes. These are just some ideas. Do not feel limited by this list and share any ideas you may have!
If you have a groundbreaking idea related to the abovementioned topics, whether it addresses challenges in engineering, manufacturing, or beyond, we’d love to hear about it in your motivational letter. While our primary focus is on the abovementioned topics, feel free to suggest a related topic if you believe it aligns with our goals.
Within all our internships, we offer you the opportunity to develop, learn, orient, build relationships and gain insights into what it’s like to work as a consultant. As an employer, we will be as flexible as possible to support your work as well as your academical needs and happy to help you navigate in the beginning of your career. Therefore, within our recruiting process, we are highly interested in your motivation and academical interest.
