Why We’re Hiring This Role:
Vapi's growth to date has been driven by something rare: a genuine developer-led groundswell. Early adopters, technical content creators, and builders discovered what they could make with Vapi and shared it with the world - organically creating category awareness in voice AI before most enterprises even knew they needed it.
We're now making our first real investment in EMEA, with two AEs in-market and real pipeline to support. But EMEA isn't a market you can win with a copy-paste of a US playbook. The developer communities are different, the enterprise buying cycles are different, and the voice AI conversation is still early. We need someone who can do what our best early champions did in the US - get in rooms, build relationships, and light a spark in the local market - but do it with intention, speed, and a startup's resourcefulness.
This is a founding regional marketing role. You'll own EMEA awareness and demand from the ground up.
What You’ll Do:
Who You Are:
You've done regional from scratch before. You've built or led marketing in EMEA at a developer tools, infrastructure, or AI company, ideally at a stage where the category wasn't yet established. You know what it takes to create demand where there isn't much yet.
You're a community and events operator at heart. You know that in a nascent market, trust travels through people, not ads. You're energized by getting in a room, finding the right builders, and making Vapi the product they tell their network about.
You understand developers. You don't need to be one, but you need to speak their language, know what earns their respect, and understand why a PLG motion lives or dies on authenticity.
You're a scrappy, resourceful marketer. You know how to make a limited budget feel bigger than it is. You've run events with no agency, written copy without a full brand team, and figured out what channels actually work in a market through testing.
You're a strong relationship builder. You can identify and activate influencers, community leaders, and content creators as partners, not just vendors.
You can work across time zones without losing context. The US team is your support system. You'll need to stay closely aligned while owning EMEA independently; this requires strong async communication and judgment about when to escalate vs. execute.
Bonus: Experience in conversational AI, contact center technology, or developer infrastructure. Existing EMEA network in the AI/ML or voice/telephony space.
