About Us
We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to support our restaurants in Amsterdam Zuid (Butta la Pasta) and Zuidas (Rosso Pizza Bar).
Role Summary
As Dishwasher and Kitchen Support, you are essential to the smooth daily operation of the restaurant. You keep the kitchen clean, sanitised, and organised, and assist the kitchen team wherever needed. This role requires energy, reliability, and a pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the entire restaurant.
Key Responsibilities
Dishwashing & Crockery
- Operate the commercial glasswasher and dishwasher efficiently throughout the shift
- Wash, rinse, and sanitise all crockery, glassware, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils
- Sort and stack clean items correctly and return them promptly to the relevant stations
- Monitor stock of cleaning chemicals and notify the manager when replenishment is needed
- Ensure the dish area is kept tidy, dry, and safe at all times
Kitchen Cleaning & Sanitation
- Clean and degrease the stove, oven, and all cooking surfaces after each service
- Clean and empty the deep fryer regularly; change oil as instructed by the chef
- Wipe down and sanitise all work surfaces, prep areas, and shelving throughout the day
- Clean the inside and outside of all fridges and freezers on a regular schedule; check for expired products
- Clean kitchen equipment including slicers, mixers, and other appliances as directed
- Sweep and mop the kitchen floor after every service and as needed during shifts
- Empty and clean all rubbish bins; ensure waste is disposed of correctly (general, glass, organic)
- Clean floor drains and ensure no blockages; report any drainage issues immediately
- Maintain cleanliness of the ice machine area and glasswasher drainage system
General Restaurant Cleaning
- Vacuum and mop all restaurant floors (dining room, bar area, entrance) before opening and after closing
- Clean and sanitise the guest toilets at regular intervals throughout the day and after closing; ensure soap, paper towels, and toilet paper are always stocked
- Clean staff toilets and changing areas as scheduled
- Wipe down tables, chairs, and high-touch surfaces in the dining room as needed
- Clean windows, doors, and entrance areas as part of opening procedures
- Remove litter from the outdoor terrace or entrance when applicable
- Assist with receiving deliveries and storing goods correctly
Kitchen Support
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen team (peeling, portioning, etc.)
- Keep the pass area clean and clear during service
- Carry food and supplies between storage and kitchen as needed
- Follow all HACCP food safety and hygiene protocols at all times
What We're Looking For
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking with a positive attitude
- Comfortable working at pace in a busy kitchen environment
- Good physical stamina — this is a physically active role
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of hygiene and food safety standards (or willingness to learn)
- Fluency in Dutch and/or English preferred; Italian is a bonus
- Previous experience in a kitchen or cleaning role is an advantage but not required — full training provided
