UHMWPE Engineer (Ultra High Molecular Weight PolyEthylene)
Are you a Chemical engineer who loves the interface between R&D and Manufacturing in a process engineering and improvement context.? Join us in shaping the future of high-performance solutions with Dyneema® – the world’s strongest fiber.
In this role, you will contribute in APM support to the UHMwPE technology in the area of process development and engineering. You will contribute to process development and process engineering at the interface between Innovation and Manufacturing and will have a strong focus on polymer reaction engineering and overall process improvement, you will, therefore, work in a multidisciplinary team consisting of chemical engineers, material scientists, chemists and production staff. Furthermore, you will provide input and execute flow diagrams and heat/mass balances for the entire plant or unit operations of it. What you’ll do
Responsible for identifying and driving projects related to plant output improvement while minimizing its carbon footprint.
Structure small capital improve plant projects (including business cases) and execute them in collaboration with external companies
Be a connection point between the innovation team and the production team, by translating the needs from operations.
Create and maintain models and mass/heat balance of plant
Give input to HAZOP team
What you bring
You are knowledgeable in polymer reaction engineering, unit operations and process modeling. You are familiar with Aspen (Custom Modeler, Plus and Process Explorer) and have used it for different projects. Experience in working with polyolefin technology is advantageous. You are able to construct heat and mass balances for the plant as well as to translate complex problems into simple concepts, to come with a development/testing plan and to convert results into valuable solutions for our business. You must be able to work well in a team as well as independently and can easily connect with manufacturing environment and its needs. You have good communication skills and a strong command of the English language. In addition, you must demonstrate good analytical skills and be self-propelling having the ability to sell your ideas to stakeholders within APM. Furthermore, you must be willing to be present in the plant for parts of your week in Geleen, Netherlands.Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and fluency in English.
