As a Supplier Quality Engineer within our NPI (New Product Introduction) department, you play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of new and modified components and assemblies sourced from external suppliers. From early supplier selection to final part approval, you are instrumental in preventing quality issues and enabling successful product launches.
You operate within the first three domains of our Quality Ovals framework:
Supplier Planning, Classification and Selection Supplier Audits and Certification Part Release Process
Working closely with Strategic Procurement, Innovation, and Manufacturing Engineering, you help ensure suppliers meet the highest quality standards while supporting efficient and timely product introduction.
Key responsibilities
Evaluate and qualify suppliers in collaboration with procurement and engineering teams
Conduct supplier audits, document findings, and proactively drive improvement actions
Coordinate the Part Release Process (PRP), including PPAP documentation and sample evaluation
Assess supplier technical changes and process modifications
Manage the full sample process: receipt, evaluation, and documentation
Identify supply chain risks and initiate mitigation actions
Ensure proper quality documentation, deviation tracking, and system registration
Organizational responsibilities
Contribute to the development and implementation of quality policies
Coordinate quality methods, tools, and control plans to reduce non-conformities
Communicate quality goals and expectations to external suppliers
Promote and strengthen quality culture within the organization
Support supplier improvement programs with Operational and Strategic Procurement
Conduct external product and process audits
Manage quality-related data and reporting systems
Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers
Drive adoption of improved working methods and secure stakeholder alignment
Experience & Education
Knowledge & Skills
Strong knowledge of PPAP, FMEA, SPC, 8D, and ISO 9001
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong analytical and structured problem-solving mindset
Proactive and capable of identifying and mitigating risks in cross-functional environments
Skilled in stakeholder management, balancing strategic and operational priorities
Independent, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
Intercultural awareness and persuasive communication abilities
Travel requirements
Approximately 10–20% travel (international and domestic)
Visits may include suppliers, production sites, customers, and internal locations
Ability to travel independently, sometimes on short notice
Valid passport required
