How will you make an impact?
As an Engineer III, Industrial Engineering – Data & Lean Manufacturing within HE-TEM Manufacturing, you will join the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team in Eindhoven. This team focuses on continuously improving how complex High-End Transmission Electron Microscopes are built.
In this role, you will drive data-driven operational improvements by leveraging MES (Manufacturing Execution System) data. You will independently identify improvement opportunities, translate data into actionable insights, and lead implementation of solutions that improve cycle time, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
You will act as a key link between manufacturing operations, digital systems, and data analytics, ensuring that decisions on the shop floor are based on facts and deliver measurable impact.
What will you do?
Data-Driven Performance Improvement

Analyze MES and manufacturing data to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities (cycle time, OEE, FPY, throughput)

Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs to support daily and tactical decision-making

Translate data insights into concrete improvement actions for manufacturing teams

Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and proper usage across stakeholders
Lean Manufacturing Execution
-
Lead and execute Lean improvement initiatives (Kaizen, VSM, A3, DMAIC)
-
Drive waste reduction and flow improvements using data-supported analysis
-
Implement and sustain standard work and process improvements
-
Support daily management and performance routines on the shop floor
MES & Digital Integration
-
Act as a key user of MES systems and manufacturing data infrastructure
-
Translate operational needs into system and data requirements
-
Support implementation and adoption of MES improvements in collaboration with Product Owner and engineering teams
-
Ensure alignment between MES data and operational KPIs
Cross-Functional Collaboration
-
Collaborate with Operations Engineering, Manufacturing, R&D, and Advanced Technology teams
-
Work with AI Engineers to identify and prioritize high-impact data use cases
-
Provide input to Product Owner for backlog prioritization based on operational needs

Align with Operations Architect on improvement priorities and roadmap
Project Ownership & Impact

Independently lead improvement projects with clear scope and deliverables

Quantify and track results (cycle time reduction, quality improvement, cost savings)

Ensure sustainable implementation of improvements within operations

Communicate progress, results, and recommendations to stakeholders
How will you get here?
-
BSc or MSc degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field
-
4–7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (high-tech preferred)
-
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools (Green Belt required or willingness to obtain)

Experience working with MES systems and manufacturing data
-
Strong analytical skills (e.g., SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau or similar)

Experience with KPI definition and performance management (OEE, takt time, lead time, FPY)
-
Proven ability to independently drive improvements based on data insights
-
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions
-
Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic and complex manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in high-tech or semiconductor manufacturing environments

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
-
Knowledge of statistical engineering or Design of Experiments (DOE)

Experience working in cleanroom environments
-
Experience collaborating with digital/AI teams on manufacturing improvements
-
Excellent English language skills (verbal and written), Dutch is a plus
