Are you a financial expert and does accounting have no secrets for you? Do you like studying figures and do you like to have ownership? Then the position of Accounting Officer at Miele Netherlands is your next career step! In this position you are the pivot between the financial processes, the people and the resulting administration. Together with the controllers, shared service centre and external parties, such as our accountants and advisors, you ensure accurate accounting. This not only involves the correct administration of the figures, but also identifying bottlenecks and risks in terms of legislation and regulations. You will be working in a multinational team, with a manager who focuses on your talents and prepares you for a great career within Miele. The many international contacts within the Miele group offer you the opportunity to build an interesting network.

What you will be doing:

The Accounting Officer plays a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization by ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, timely processing of transactions, and compliance with group financial policies and local regulatory requirements. The role supports effective financial management through attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to excellence. You are the first point of contact within the Netherlands affiliate and the right-hand of the Accounting Manager covering the cluster of Belgium/Luxembourg/Netherlands/France.

Key Responsibilities:

Support month-end and year-end closing activities for the Netherlands entity in collaboration with our global shared services (MGS) teams in Poland.
Ensure accurate bookings, accruals, reconciliations, and allocations to cost and profit centers.
Be a key point of contact for external and internal audit matters.
Support tax and legal compliance processes, including VAT, and other statutory declarations.
Evaluate internal systems, controls, and risks, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Contribute to the Netherlands and global process optimization projects.
Support the FP&A team with financial transparency, reporting, and follow-up.

The Accounting Officer we are looking for:

We are looking for someone who is structured, accountable, and principled, with a strong sense of ownership for financial integrity and operational follow-through. You enjoy working with both numbers and practical coordination, and you are comfortable communicating with internal stakeholders as well as external service partners.

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration.
+8 years of experience in a similar role.
A strong accounting foundation, with proven experience in closing periods, balance sheet ownership, statutory and tax reporting.
Handles sensitive financial information with the highest level of confidentiality, integrity, and accountability while adhering to professional and organizational standards.
Communicates financial information clearly and professionally to colleagues, management, auditors, and other stakeholders.
A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a passion for continuous improvement and eagerness to take ownership, contribute to harmonization of processes across the region.
Works collaboratively across departments and builds positive relationships.
Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience in a multinational, multi-location matrix environment.
Experience working with SAP is an advantage, proficiency in Excel.
Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and verbal.
