Human Resources Management (HRM) focuses on providing HRM support to employees and management, for both academic and professional staff. From the first contact a potential employee has with TU/e, to the end of their contract (i.e. inflow, throughflow, and outflow). A clear service portfolio, talent development and retention, and talent attraction and onboarding are HRM’s top priorities.
The Learning & Development team is part of Human Resource Management (HRM) at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Our mission is to support the growth and development of all university employees by strengthening the capabilities they need to thrive in a dynamic academic environment. We design, develop, and deliver learning initiatives that enhance key HR-related capabilities, related to leadership, career development, and wellbeing & safety.
The L&D team is in an exciting phase of development. We recently launched a new digital learning platform (Staff Learning Hub) and are expanding our service portfolio. To keep our learning operations running well and ensure high-quality execution of our learning programs, we are looking for an L&D Specialist. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Learning & Development Specialist who is passionate about capability building and creating impactful learning experiences.
This role sits at the heart of our team's day-to-day operations. You work alongside our two L&D coordinators and four L&D specialists as a peer, contributing to shared projects and keeping the operational engine running smoothly. As L&D Specialist, you are a trusted advisor for the Business on (all) strategic L&D topics and make impact on TU/e’s learning culture, the (future proof) curriculum and the overall employee experience of TU/e employees. You will work in a small team, alongside other L&D specialists, contributing to shared projects and learning programs. You bring both execution power and a process mindset: you get things done and you think about how to do them better.
What You Will Do
1. Maintaining learning programs, especially for PhD and EngDs
-
You create, maintain, and publish (digital) learning content in our Staff Learning Hub (our new digital learning platform).
-
You co-design learning solutions in execution: building content structures, developing materials.
-
You are responsible for supplier selections and vendor management.
-
You contribute to measurement and evaluation activities, including the execution of health checks and learning quality and effectiveness assessments.
2. L&D Business Partner
-
You advise and support HR advisors and other stakeholders with L&D-related questions.
-
You contribute to jointly promoting the L&D vision, strategy, and learning offer across the TU/e.
-
You execute (aligned) business and learning needs analysis across (service) departments to develop and maintain a futureproof L&D Portfolio.
-
You keep up to date on developments in the L&D field whilst building your network and connecting with other teams within TU/e and external L&D experts.
Experience & Knowledge
-
Experience with digital learning platforms and online content creation — you have built or managed content in an LMS, LXP, or similar digital learning environment.
- Affinity with learning design principles — you understand what makes a good learning experience, even if your role is more execution than strategy.
- Experience with coordination and project management in an L&D or HR context.
- Familiarity with vendor management processes is a plus (following up on deliverables, managing timelines, liaising with suppliers).
-
Affinity with AI tools is a plus — you are curious about how AI can support content creation, learning personalization, or operational efficiency. You don't need to be an expert, but you're open to experimenting and learning.
Note: This is not an HRM subject matter expert role. Deep expertise in HR policy or HR strategy is not required. What matters is your L&D operational and digital expertise.
Personal Profile
-
You are hands-on and practical: you like getting things done, not just planning them.
-
You are process-minded: you naturally think about how to do things more efficiently and consistently.
-
You are digitally curious: you have experience working with online learning tools, and the arrival of new tools and platforms energizes you rather than unsettles you.
- You are a team player: you value working together on projects and don't prefer to operate in a silo.
A role with real ownership and variety: A collegial team of motivated colleagues with a range of different skills and backgrounds. The opportunity to contribute to the build-out and optimization of our new digital learning platform. A position within a team that is actively modernizing how learning works in our organization.
