About the role.
McCain Foods is a global leader in frozen potato products, operating more than 50 production facilities across 12+ countries. In the Netherlands, we operate from our production sites in Lewedorp and Lelystad.
We are looking for a Field Representative to join our Agriculture team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and strengthening relationships with a dedicated group of potato growers. Acting as McCain’s primary representative in the field, you will work closely with growers throughout the entire crop cycle to ensure a reliable, high-quality potato supply for our manufacturing operations.
You will work independently within your region while maintaining regular contact with growers and collaborating with colleagues at our Lelystad location.
What you’ll be doing.

Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term partnerships with potato growers.

Negotiate and conclude annual growing and supply contracts, including agreements on pricing, volumes, quality specifications, and commercial terms within established mandates.

Ensure a sufficient, timely, and high-quality potato supply for McCain production facilities.

Sample field and stored potatoes to monitor quality and proactively identify potential risks.

Identify opportunities for technical and agronomic support and collaborate with Agronomy colleagues to provide solutions.

Select, develop, and recruit new growers to continuously strengthen the supplier base.

Promote and support key McCain sustainability initiatives, including regenerative agriculture programs.

Accurately maintain crop, inventory, and contract information within digital systems.

Contribute to data-driven insights that support decision-making and supply chain performance.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives across grower partnerships, agricultural practices, and overall value chain performance.
What you’ll need to be successful.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of education and working experience.

Strong commercial awareness and organizational skills.

A genuine interest in and ambition to build a career within the agricultural sector.

Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize and manage your own workload.

Strong learning agility with the ability to quickly acquire knowledge across a wide range of topics.

Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English. German is considered an advantage.

About the team.
You will be part of a team of six Field Representatives within McCain’s Agriculture organization and report directly to the Director Procurement Agriculture Netherlands. This role is highly collaborative and works closely with Planning & Logistics, Agronomy, and our Production Facilities to ensure a seamless and sustainable supply chain from farm to factory.
