What to Expect
Tesla is looking for a Project Manager, Performance Pay Programs to join our EMEA Sales Programs team in Amsterdam. In this role you will own the program design and continuous improvement of variable pay programs that reward Sales, Delivery, and related field roles across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Performance Pay is how we connect commercial and customer priorities to clear, fair, and timely incentives for frontline teams. As a project manager, you will govern the full monthly payout cycle end to end, protect program integrity, drive continuous process improvement and partner with leadership to evolve program design as the business grows. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with high visibility: you coordinate a broad stakeholder map and are trusted as the owner of Performance Pay for EMEA Sales & Delivery.
What You'll Do-
Design program rules and commercial integrity. Design and continuously improve program rules such as volume bandings, boosters, targets, eligibility, and pilot vs. permanent designs across Sales Performance Pay (new and used), store leadership, Delivery, and B2B. Treat multi-market employment and works-council requirements as an integral part of the design process
-
Plan program changes, roadmaps, and rollout timelines. Translate leadership direction into clear plans, sequencing changes, pilots, and launches by market and role. Own the program timeline and critical path so every cycle and change lands on schedule
-
Communicate to leadership and the field. Produce decision-ready leadership materials and accurate, timely field and stakeholder communications, and proactively drive change communication across partners. Clear coordination here is central to program success
- Track, review, and evaluate effectiveness with numbers. Measure program performance with hard numbers such as spend, ROI, payout distribution, and behavioral impact by market and role. Track outcomes over time and safeguard data quality and integrity, including data previewed or shared with advisors. Prepare recommendations with data, trade-offs, and risk so leadership can act quickly
-
Coordinate execution across partner teams. Keep the monthly payout cycle on track by coordinating closely with HR, Compensation, and Payroll, from eligibility and data preparation through calculation, quality checks, and handoff. Own the timeline and outcome, unblock issues, and root-cause disputes or missing payments so errors do not recur
-
Improve, automate, and increase transparency. Identify automation and process-improvement opportunities, and build dashboards and reporting that make spend, payout health, and program impact transparent. Reduce single-person dependency through playbooks and backups
-
Collaborate closely with the EMEA Planning, Analytics & Sales Operations team. Partner with them to connect Performance Pay to field standards, planning priorities, analytics insights, and sales operations processes
What You'll Bring-
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics or equivalent proven experience in sales operations, compensation or incentives, finance operations, program management, or a similar analytical operations role, ideally multi-market/national setup
-
Comfort coordinating a recurring, deadline-driven process where accuracy matters, such as incentives, payroll, or month-end close, working through cross-functional partners who execute the steps
-
Strong number sense and hands-on analytical skills to produce accurate outputs from large, messy datasets, with strong Excel skills and comfort using BI or reporting tools; SQL or light automation is a plus
-
Excellent communication skills: translate analysis into clear, decision-ready recommendations, and produce field communications, leadership materials, and process documentation in excellent English
-
Collaborative, structured, and high-ownership working style: build trust across HQ and field partners, escalate early with a proposed solution, investigate anomalies thoroughly, and treat employee pay as non-negotiable quality work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
-
Based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with willingness to travel occasionally within EMEA as needed. Experience with sales incentives or multi-country payroll, additional European languages, and a background in automotive, retail, or technology are strong advantages
