What to Expect
Tesla is looking for a Project Manager, Performance Pay Programs to join our EMEA Customer Excellence team in Amsterdam. In this role you will own the operation and continuous improvement of variable pay programs that reward Sales, Delivery, and related field roles across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Performance Pay is how we connect commercial and customer priorities to clear, fair, and timely incentives for frontline teams. You will run the full monthly payout cycle end to end, protect program integrity, and partner with leadership to evolve program design as the business grows. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with high visibility: you coordinate a broad stakeholder map and are trusted as the operational owner of Performance Pay for EMEA Sales & Delivery.
What You'll Do-
Own the monthly Performance Pay cycle from eligibility and data preparation through calculation, quality checks, and handoff to payroll
-
Operate and improve programs across Sales Performance Pay (new and used), store leadership incentives, Delivery Performance Pay, and B2B performance incentives
-
Translate leadership direction into working program rules (volume bandings, boosters, targets, eligibility, pilot or permanent designs) and prepare decision-ready recommendations with data, trade-offs, and risk
-
Investigate disputes, missing payments, and anomalies; root-cause issues, document learnings, and strengthen controls so errors do not recur
-
Build and maintain dashboards, reporting, and process documentation so spend, payout health, and program impact are transparent to stakeholders
-
Partner with Sales and Delivery operations, HR, Compensation, Finance, Business Analytics, Legal, regional leaders, and the wider Customer Excellence team to launch changes, keep communications accurate, and align incentives with field standards, training, digital tools, and performance insights
-
Support multi-market requirements including local employment and works council considerations, and reduce operational risk through playbooks, backups, and automation so programs stay compliant, reliable, and not single-person dependent
What You'll Bring-
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in sales operations, compensation or incentives, finance operations, program management, or a similar analytical operations role, ideally multi-market
-
Proven ownership of a recurring, deadline-driven process where accuracy matters (payroll, incentives, month-end close, or equivalent), with strong Excel skills and comfort with BI or reporting tools; SQL or light automation is a plus
-
Strong analytical and communication skills: turn large datasets into correct outputs and clear recommendations, and produce field communications, leadership materials, and process documentation in excellent English
-
Collaborative, structured, and high-ownership working style: build trust across HQ and field partners, escalate early with a proposed solution, investigate anomalies thoroughly, and treat employee pay as non-negotiable quality work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
-
Based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with willingness to travel occasionally within EMEA as needed; experience with sales incentives or multi-country payroll, additional European languages, and a background in automotive, retail, or technology are strong advantages
