Are you a Java Developer looking for a challenge where you can make a real impact? Do you thrive in an innovative environment where you can develop scalable, high-performance applications? At Float IoT, we are expanding our IoT Gatekeeper team and looking for a Medior Java Developer to help us design and optimize our IoT infrastructure for water utilities.

In this role, you will be working on mission-critical systems that handle real-time device communication, data security, and large-scale network monitoring. You’ll collaborate with a talented team to build seamless and efficient software solutions.

If you’re passionate about backend development, distributed systems, and IoT, this is your opportunity to grow and make a tangible difference in a field that matters.

What you’ll do

Build, test, and improve Java-based backend systems for the IoT Gatekeeper platform.
Develop scalable and secure RESTful APIs.
Implement and maintain Apache Kafka pipelines for real-time data streaming.
Contribute to water conservation and infrastructure efficiency through advanced IoT applications.

What you bring

4+ years of experience in Java development.
Experience with Docker, Kafka, and PostgreSQL.
A quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies and challenges.
A-player with a strong track record of delivering high-quality software.

About the IoT Gatekeeper

The IoT Gatekeeper is Float IoT’s dedicated IoT platform for managing and securing connected water utility devices. It provides:

Centralized device authentication for secure access management.
Event-driven data processing using Apache Kafka.
Real-time monitoring and analytics for large-scale water distribution networks, handling hundreds of millions of messages.
A secure and scalable architecture using a modern tech stack:
