To strengthen and modernize its procurement organization, Marflex is looking for a Procurement Lead Operations & Automation. This role combines operational procurement excellence with digital transformation and automation initiatives to create a more efficient, scalable, and future-ready procurement function.
Your Role
As Procurement Lead Operations & Automation, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving procurement processes, systems, governance, data quality, and automation capabilities across the organization.
Your mission is to make procurement faster, smarter, more compliant, and less dependent on manual administration — enabling Procurement to focus more on strategic value creation.
This role combines procurement operations leadership with automation and digital enablement initiatives and is expected to play a key role in Marflex’s procurement transformation journey over the coming years.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement Operations & Governance
- Own and improve end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Source-to-Pay (S2P) processes;
- Define and maintain procurement governance, approval workflows, and buying channels;
- Ensure policy compliance, audit readiness, and internal controls;
- Standardize procurement processes and operating procedures.
Systems, Data & Digital Enablement
- Manage procurement systems and digital platforms, including SAP and S2P solutions;
- Optimize workflows, supplier portals, catalogues, and integrations;
- Improve supplier master data, spend classification, and reporting accuracy;
- Develop dashboards and KPI reporting to improve transparency and decision-making.
Automation & Process Improvement
- Identify and implement automation opportunities across procurement processes;
- Automate low-value, high-volume transactions;
- Improve touchless procurement and invoice matching rates;
- Implement catalogue buying, guided buying, and self-service procurement solutions;
- Introduce automation for supplier reminders, confirmations, and data cleansing.
Supplier & User Experience
- Improve ease-of-use for internal stakeholders and suppliers;
- Lead supplier onboarding and enablement initiatives;
- Resolve operational friction points such as blocked invoices, PO errors, and workflow exceptions;
- Support adoption of procurement systems and digital buying channels.
Compliance, Controls & Risk Management
- Ensure procurement compliance and segregation of duties;
- Maintain audit trails and procurement documentation;
- Define and enforce data governance standards;
- Support supplier risk screening and compliance checks.

Total spend under responsibility: approximately €15–20 million.
Who Are You?
You are process-driven, analytical, and highly systems-oriented. You enjoy improving workflows, simplifying complex processes, and driving digital transformation initiatives across procurement operations.
You are capable of balancing governance and compliance with user experience and operational efficiency.
You Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or similar;
- 7–12 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations;
- Strong experience with P2P/S2P process ownership and optimization;
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP and procurement platforms like Ariba;
- Experience with automation tools, workflows, OCR, RPA, or low-code solutions;
- Strong analytical and data management capabilities;
- Experience building dashboards and KPI reporting (Power BI or similar);
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills;
- Professional proficiency in English.
Nice to Have
- Experience within manufacturing or industrial environments;
- Knowledge of procurement governance and audit controls;
- Experience with supplier onboarding and compliance processes;
- Lean Six Sigma, digital transformation, or analytics certifications;
- Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, or process automation tools.
