Ons internationale User Research-team bestaat uit collega’s gevestigd in Finland, Zweden, Italië, Polen, Nederland, Duitsland en Spanje. Deze functie is gevestigd in Nederland, met flexibele mogelijkheden voor remote werken en toegang tot ons kantoor in Den Bosch.
Het team werkt samen over verschillende markten om digitale leeroplossingen van wereldklasse te creëren, gebaseerd op gebruikersinzichten. User Researchers helpen Sanoma Learning-producten betekenisvolle waarde te leveren aan docenten en studenten via evidence-based inzichten.
Samen met een andere in Nederland gevestigde User Researcher voer je onderzoek uit in Nederland en België, terwijl je ook bijdraagt aan bredere cross-market initiatieven.
Kwalitatief onderzoek uitvoeren met behulp van diverse methoden, waaronder interviews, online panels, dagboekstudies, veldonderzoek, usability testing, heuristische en cognitieve evaluaties en co-creatiesessies
Eigenaarschap nemen over onderzoek van begin tot eind, van desk research en hypothesedefinitie tot planning, uitvoering, synthese en communicatie van inzichten
Onderzoeksbevindingen vertalen naar duidelijke en bruikbare aanbevelingen die product- en designbeslissingen ondersteunen
Nauw samenwerken met productmanagers, pedagogische experts en designers om concepten te evalueren, ideeën te verkennen en early-stage discovery te ondersteunen
Samenwerking faciliteren en stimuleren met stakeholders binnen product-, design- en developmentteams in een internationale omgeving

This position reports directly to the User Research Competence Lead and is part of the Digital Products Product Management organization.
Our international User Research team includes colleagues based in Finland, Sweden, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, Germany, and Spain. This position is based in the Netherlands, with flexible remote working and access to our Den Bosch office.
The team collaborates across markets to create world-class digital learning solutions grounded in user insights. User Researchers help Sanoma Learning products deliver meaningful value to teachers and students through evidence-based insights.
Together with another Netherlands-based User Researcher, you will conduct research in the Netherlands and Belgium while also contributing to broader cross-market initiatives.
Conduct qualitative research using a range of methods, including interviews, online panels, diary studies, field studies, usability testing, heuristic and cognitive evaluations, and co-creation sessions
Take ownership of research end-to-end, from desk research and hypothesis definition to planning, execution, synthesis, and communication of insights
Translate research findings into clear and actionable recommendations that inform product and design decisions
Collaborate closely with product managers, pedagogical experts, and designers to evaluate concepts, explore ideas, and support early-stage discovery
Facilitate and drive collaboration with stakeholders across product, design, and development teams in a multi-country environment
Maintain a strong understanding of local user and market needs while contributing to broader cross-market perspectives
Contribute to and maintain user journeys and other research artefacts
Work with the international User Research team to define and evolve research practices, frameworks, and ways of working
Support and strengthen a user-centred culture by advocating for user needs and communicating insights to diverse audiences
Occasionally conduct on-site research, including school visits within local markets
Degree or relevant background in user-centred design, HCI, psychology, or a related field
4+ years of experience in user research with a strong focus on qualitative methods
Experience independently driving research from problem framing to delivering insights that influence product decisions
Understanding of how agentic AI can support and enhance user research workflows, alongside openness to experimenting with and learning new AI-enabled approaches
Interest in and understanding of the future of K–12 digital learning
Experience working on concept exploration and early-stage discovery
Experience working in multinational and cross-functional teams within matrix organizations
Strong communication and facilitation skills with a proactive and hands-on mindset
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
Ability to structure ambiguous problems into clear research approaches
Curious, empathetic, with strong systemic thinking and sense-making skills
Excellent written and spoken English
Native or near-native Dutch is mandatory, as research is conducted in the local language
Experience with mixed-methods research
Ability to support concept development through sketching, Figma, or framing ideas visually
Experience in education or digital learning environments
Experience building or experimenting with agentic AI workflows to support user research activities
Additional European languages such as Swedish, Finnish, Italian, Spanish, German, French, or Polish
