Tokyo Design Studio combineert Japans design met Europese finesse. Vanuit Alkmaar ontwikkelen wij collecties en concepten voor retail, horeca en internationale markten. Voor ons creatieve team zoeken wij een ervaren grafisch vormgever / visual designer met een sterk gevoel voor esthetiek, detail en compositie.
Wij zoeken iemand die niet alleen mooie ontwerpen maakt, maar ook begrijpt hoe beeld bijdraagt aan merkbeleving, verkoop en productpresentatie. Een creatieve professional die zelfstandig werkt, kritisch kijkt en actief meedenkt over visuele communicatie.
Wat je gaat doen
Je werkt aan uiteenlopende visuele uitingen voor onze merken en collecties – van verpakkingen en catalogi tot fotografie, social media en point-of-sale materiaal. Je bewaakt de visuele identiteit en zorgt ervoor dat ontwerpen technisch correct en productieklaar worden aangeleverd.
Jouw werkzaamheden
- Ontwerpen en opmaken van productverpakkingen, brochures, posters, catalogi en POS-materiaal.
- Ontwikkelen van online visuals voor websites, nieuwsbrieven en social media.
- Bewaken van huisstijl en merkconsistentie binnen verschillende merken en productlijnen.
- Voorbereiden van drukwerk en aanleveren van drukklare bestanden.
- Product- en sfeerfotografie begeleiden, uitvoeren en nabewerken.
- Bewerken en optimaliseren van beeldmateriaal voor online en offline toepassingen.
- Meedenken over campagnes, productpresentaties en creatieve conceptontwikkeling.
- Actief inzetten van AI-tools voor beeldcreatie, beeldoptimalisatie en efficiëntie binnen het designproces.
Wat we zoeken
Wij zoeken een vormgever die sterk is in zowel creativiteit als uitvoering. Iemand die zelfstandig projecten kan oppakken, maar ook goed functioneert binnen een team.
Jouw profiel
- Minimaal 4 jaar relevante werkervaring als grafisch vormgever, visual designer of vergelijkbare functie.
- Uitstekende beheersing van Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop en Acrobat.
- Ervaring met fotografie en beeldbewerking; gevoel voor product- en sfeerfotografie is belangrijk.
- Affiniteit en ervaring met AI-tools binnen design en contentcreatie.
- Ervaring met verpakkingen, drukwerk en technische specificaties.
- Sterk gevoel voor compositie, detail, kleur en merkidentiteit.
- Zeer nauwkeurig, gestructureerd en zelfstandig.
- Stressbestendig en flexibel bij deadlines.
- Ervaring met social media content en online visuele communicatie is een pré.
- Affiniteit met design, interieur, lifestyle of Japanse esthetiek is een plus.

Werkwijze
Wij geloven sterk in korte lijnen en directe creatieve samenwerking. Omdat je veel samenwerkt met collega’s van marketing, sales en productontwikkeling, en regelmatig betrokken bent bij fotografie, samples en fysieke productbeoordelingen, wordt deze functie volledig op locatie in Alkmaar uitgevoerd. Structureel thuiswerken is binnen deze functie niet gewenst.
Taalvereiste
Nederlands is niet verplicht. Een basisniveau (A1) is gewenst.

For our creative team, we are looking for an experienced Senior Graphic Designer / Visual Designer with a strong sense of aesthetics, detail, and composition.
We are looking for someone who not only creates beautiful designs but also understands how visuals contribute to brand experience, sales, and product presentation. A creative professional who works independently, has a critical eye, and actively contributes ideas to visual communication.
What You Will Do
You will work on a wide variety of visual materials for our brands and collections – ranging from packaging and catalogues to photography, social media, and point-of-sale materials. You will safeguard our visual identity and ensure all designs are technically accurate and production-ready.
Your Responsibilities
- Designing and creating layouts for product packaging, brochures, posters, catalogues, and POS materials.
- Developing online visuals for websites, newsletters, and social media.
- Maintaining brand identity and visual consistency across multiple brands and product lines.
- Preparing print files and delivering press-ready artwork.
- Organising, executing, and editing product and lifestyle photography.
- Editing and optimising visual content for both online and offline applications.
- Contributing ideas for campaigns, product presentations, and creative concepts.
- Actively using AI tools for image creation, visual optimisation, and improving efficiency within the design process.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a designer who is strong in both creativity and execution. Someone who can independently manage projects while also working effectively as part of a team.
Your Profile
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience as a graphic designer, visual designer, or in a similar role.
- Excellent proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
- Experience with photography and image editing; a strong eye for product and lifestyle photography is essential.
- Experience and affinity with AI tools in design and content creation.
- Experience with packaging, print production, and technical specifications.
- Strong sense of composition, detail, colour, and brand identity.
- Highly accurate, organised, and able to work independently.
- Flexible and able to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Experience with social media content and online visual communication is considered a plus.
- Affinity with design, interiors, lifestyle, or Japanese aesthetics is an advantage.

Working Style
We strongly believe in short communication lines and direct creative collaboration. Because you will work closely with colleagues from marketing, sales, and product development, and regularly be involved in photography, product samples, and physical product evaluations, this position is fully office-based in Alkmaar. Working from home on a structural basis is not preferred for this role.
Language Requirement
Dutch is not mandatory. However, a basic level (A1) is preferred.
