Over de functie
Binnen onze FTI EMEA Financial Services-praktijk ondersteunen wij klanten in tijden van crisis en transformatie. Wij helpen de koers van organisaties te bepalen op cruciale momenten, bijvoorbeeld wanneer zij te maken hebben met complexe risico's, prestatievraagstukken, herstructureringen of groeikansen.
De (Senior) Consultant maakt deel uit van de FTI Corporate Finance EMEA Financial Services-praktijk. Wij zijn op zoek naar talent voor onze kantoren in Londen, Parijs, Amsterdam en Frankfurt/München.
De (Senior) Consultant ondersteunt bij de uitvoering van klantprojecten en werkt daarbij nauw samen met klanten en multidisciplinaire teams van FTI Consulting.
Je klantenbestand bestaat onder andere uit banken en toezichthouders, maar ook uit vermogensbeheerders en institutionele beleggers, private-market partijen, betalingsdienstverleners, fintech en staatsinvesterings- en ontwikkelingsfondsen.
Wat je gaat doen?
Je ondersteunt klanten die zich bevinden in situaties van crisis en transformatie, waaronder onder meer de volgende gebieden:
Bedrijfstransformatie, waaronder grootschalige transformatieprogramma's, kostenoptimalisatie en het ontwikkelen van een target operating model.
Balansoptimalisatie en herstructurering, waaronder kapitaal-, liquiditeits- en financieringsvraagstukken en herstructureringen op portfolio- en entity-level.
Risk & compliance, waaronder de raakvlakken tussen transformatie, financiële criminaliteit, financiële risico's en geopolitieke risico's.
Data-, technologie- en AI-transformatie.
Transaction advisory, waaronder due diligence en waardecreatie op zowel entity- als portfolio-level.
Event-driven crises management binnen de financiële sector, zoals fraude, cyberincidenten, vijandige overnames en ingrijpen door toezichthouders.
Je dagelijkse werkzaamheden omvatten onder andere:
Het aansturen van een projectwerkstroom om kritieke projectdeadlines te behalen.
Nauw samenwerken met klanten, op verschillende niveaus binnen het bedrijf
Werken binnen een hecht team om het best mogelijke resultaat voor onze klanten te realiseren.
Het analyseren van klant- en marktgegevens om unieke inzichten te verkrijgen en deze te vertalen naar aanbevelingen en concrete actieplannen.
Operationele en financiële analyses uitvoeren om sterke punten en knelpunten te identificeren.
Het vertalen van aanbevelingen naar heldere en overtuigende presentaties voor het C-level management.

Basisvereisten
Masterdiploma in bedrijfskunde, engineering, finance of een vergelijkbare opleiding.
Ervaring als Consultant of Senior Consultant bij een Tier 1-strategie huis, Tier 1 managementconsultancy of binnen een financiële instelling.
Ervaring met of affiniteit voor de financiële dienstverlening of het bredere financiële ecosysteem (bijvoorbeeld banken, toezichthouders of fintech).
About The Role
In our FTI EMEA Financial Services practice, we support clients at times of crisis and transformation. We determine the direction of the company at critical moments, for example when they need to tackle high-stakes risk, performance issues, restructuring challenges and growth opportunities.
The (Senior) Consultant will be part of the FTI Corporate Finance EMEA Financial Services practice, and we are looking for talent across London, Paris, Amsterdam and Frankfurt/Munich.
The (Senior) Consultant will assist with the execution of client projects, working closely with clients and FTI Consulting teams.
Your client base will include banks and their supervisors but also asset managers/owners, private markets, payments, fintech, sovereign wealth / development funds .
What You’ll Do
You will support clients facing crisis and transformation situations, including but not limited to the following areas :
- Business transformation and efficiency, including large-scale transformations, cost efficiency, target operating model, etc.
- Balance sheet and restructuring, including capital/liquidity/funding, portfolio & entity level restructurings
- Risk and regulation, including at the intersection of transformation, financial crime, financial risks, geopolitical risks, etc.
- Data, technology and AI transformation
- Transaction advisory, including due diligence and value creation at both entity and portfolio level
- Event-driven crises impacting the financial services ecosystem, such as fraud, cyber incidents, hostile takeovers or regulatory intervention to name a few
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Help structure and lead a project workstream to ensure critical project deadlines are met
- Work side by side with clients
- Work as a close-knit team to ensure the best outcome for our clients is achieved
- Analyze client and market data to uncover unique insights, and turn these insights into recommendations and actionable plans
- Conduct operational and financial analyses to identify strengths and pain points
- Translate recommendations into digestible storylines that can be presented to C-suite

- Experience as a Consultant/Senior Consultant at a Tier 1 consulting firm or a financial services institution
- Experience in or affinity with financial services or the financial services ecosystem (e.g., banks, regulators, fintech)
