Jouw functie

We are looking for an ambitious postdoctoral researcher to join an innovative Open Science project at Radboud university medical center. The project, Measuring and Promoting Open Science in Dentistry and Biomedical Research in the Netherlands, investigates how Open Science practices are adopted across Dutch dentistry and biomedical research and evaluates strategies to promote transparent, reproducible and accessible research.

As postdoctoral researcher, you will lead the scientific execution of this 24-month project in close collaboration with the principal investigator and an interdisciplinary team of experts in Open Science, meta-research, methodology and dentistry.

Your responsibilities include:

Leading the three work packages of the project.
Conducting longitudinal meta-research on Open Science practices using bibliometric and automated assessment tools.
Collecting, managing and analysing quantitative and qualitative data from surveys and interviews.
Developing, implementing and evaluating a pilot Open Science training programme for early-career researchers.
Publishing results in peer-reviewed journals and presenting findings at national and international conferences.
Sharing datasets, code and educational materials according to FAIR and Open Science principles.
Contributing to policy briefs and recommendations for research-performing organisations and research funders.
Supervising MSc students and collaborating with national and international Open Science experts.

Jouw werkplek

You will join the Department of Dentistry at Radboud university medical center (Radboudumc) in Nijmegen, one of the leading academic medical centers in the Netherlands. The department combines excellence in research, education and patient care, with a strong focus on prevention, evidence-based dentistry, artificial intelligence and responsible research practices.

You will work directly with Dr. Maximiliano Cenci within a collaborative and international research environment that includes researchers, master's students, PhD candidates and national and international collaborators. The team values scientific curiosity, methodological rigor, open communication and mutual support. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will have considerable independence in leading your research while working closely with colleagues from dentistry, epidemiology, implementation science, statistics and Open Science.

The project is embedded within the the Dutch Open Science community and connected to the national Orange Health consortium, providing excellent opportunities to build collaborations across universities and University Medical Centers.

Jouw profiel

We are looking for a motivated and curious postdoctoral researcher with a strong interest in Open Science, meta-research, and improving research quality. You enjoy working at the interface of research, data analysis, and education, and are comfortable taking initiative while collaborating in an interdisciplinary and international team. You are organised, proactive, and motivated to contribute to research that has scientific, institutional, and societal impact.

You have:

A PhD in Health Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Dentistry, Epidemiology, Implementation Science, Meta-research, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience in quantitative research methods and scientific publishing.
Experience with systematic reviews, meta-research, bibliometrics, implementation research, or research on Open Science and research integrity.
Experience with survey research and/or qualitative research methods (or willingness to develop these skills).
Experience with statistical programming, preferably in R.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Strong analytical, organisational, and project management skills.
The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with researchers, PhD candidates, and students in a multidisciplinary environment.
An affinity for Open Science, responsible research practices, and transparent, reproducible research.

Je ontvangt € 0,21 per kilometer reiskostenvergoeding, OV-reizen vergoeden we volledig (2e klasse) en werk je (deels) thuis? Dan krijg je € 2,45 per thuiswerkdag. Zo is alles goed geregeld, waar je ook werkt.
