Whether you’re designing climate control systems for a greenhouse in the Westland or a project in China, you ensure that our projects can be built with an optimal climate for cultivation.
As a Project Engineer Climate Technology, you will develop the complete climate control installations for our projects. You design high‑tech heating, cooling, and air‑handling systems for greenhouses, climate chambers, and commercial buildings. Within the projectteam, you are the driving force and the connecting link between sales/estimating, projectmanagement, and execution. You also work closely with specialists in electrical engineering, structural engineering, and water technology.
Your responsibilities include:
Creating design and production drawings, assembly drawings, and flow diagrams in AutoCAD and HiCAD;
Reviewing and preparing technical calculations, such as heat demand calculations and pump and cooler calculations;
Preparing material lists and arranging the corresponding orders;
Communicating with suppliers to coordinate delivery times, pricing, and technical details;
Coordinating with site supervisors regarding planning and technical instructions.
The great thing about your work? With us, every project is unique: always tailored to the customer’s wishes, suitable for different crops, and resilient to various weather conditions. You also get to visit project sites to learn directly from practice, and you typically work on one to three projects at the same time.
You will be joining a friendly and welcoming organization where fun outings and activities are regularly organized. The Climate department is always well represented — in fact, we’re often the first to sign up when something enjoyable is on the agenda! Our team has a down‑to‑earth Westland mindset and consists of a great mix of young talent and experienced colleagues. Alongside working hard, we believe humor and a positive atmosphere are just as important. We are always there for each other, offering help whenever needed and continuously learning from one another — because in the end, you achieve the best results together.
You have completed a degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable field — either as an emerging talent or as an experienced engineer with relevant work experience;
You have an affinity with the horticultural sector. Experience in horticulture is a plus, but not a requirement;
You have experience with 2D and 3D drafting (knowledge of AutoCAD and HiCAD is an advantage);
You work in a structured way, can maintain oversight, and are eager to learn;
You have a positive mindset and flexibly switch between tasks, priorities, and collaborations when the situation calls for it;
You work accurately, can switch quickly, and have a strong eye for detail;
You have a good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
A dynamic and varied role working on cutting-edge greenhouse projects worldwide;
An informal, friendly, and ambitious work environment that’s felt throughout the company;
A team of skilled colleagues with whom you can collaborate and brainstorm to achieve great results;
An onboarding program that dives straight into the action with activities like “ff tuinen,” where you visit growers and suppliers, enjoy a guided tour of Certhon, and even tackle a horticultural escape room! You’ll learn everything about what we do and how we work, alongside a fun group of colleagues;
From paddle tennis and boxing to cooking workshops, ice bath challenges, or even sleep workshops, there’s a vitality activity every month.
