Our journey began in 2014 with Chapter 1 of the energy transition, where we set out to disrupt the market and increase transparency by connecting consumers directly with local, green energy producers.
Now, in Chapter 2, we are fully committed to making 100% green energy available, 100% of the time. Think smart solutions—flexible utilization of wind and solar farms, smart charging for electric vehicles, and efficient energy storage. We don't sit around and wait; we actively drive a sustainable future with a healthy touch of rebellion.
Green energy, smart solutions, that is Vandebron.
As our Marketing Automation Campaign Specialist, you will join our Growth team. You will be the driving force behind all our customer communications. From automated onboarding flows to high-impact bulk campaigns across email, the app, banners, and telemarketing: you will translate data profiles into personalized customer journeys. Currently, an external agency handles parts of this work, but we are bringing this discipline entirely in-house. And you will play the leading role.
Your impact? We are currently undergoing a major strategy overhaul. We are reinventing our entire campaigning strategy and communication approach, and migrating to a brand-new Marketing Automation Platform (MAP) and Customer Data Platform (CDP). This means you won't just be pressing the 'send' button on an existing system; you will build everything from scratch on a blank canvas.
You will step into a unique, autonomous position that combines Vandebron’s agility and green mission with a dedicated technical specialist by your side to handle heavy data queries and backend setups. This allows you to focus purely on the flow, logic, and optimization.
In this role, you will report to Cees Polak, Manager Growth.
-
Build and manage marketing & service campaigns: You will be responsible for commercial, 'always-on' retention campaigns (e.g., triggered by contract end-dates), as well as crucial service communications (such as variable rate updates or mandatory communications regarding the phasing out of the net metering scheme).
-
Design automated customer journeys: Map out, build, and refine omnichannel flows (onboarding and retention) from the ground up using our new tooling ecosystem.
-
Advanced data segmentation & personalization: Smartly apply segmentation and dynamic content blocks to ensure the right message hits the right audience at the exact right time, managing multiple campaigns and journeys simultaneously.
-
Continuous optimization: Analyze campaign results and set up A/B tests to improve campaign impact on a daily basis.
-
Ensure compliance: Guarantee that all communication streams strictly comply with current GDPR and ACM (Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets) guidelines.
-
40% Operational: Drafting emails, building campaigns, and mapping dynamic data points.
-
30% Flow design & improvement: Strategically mapping out and optimizing customer journeys.
-
30% Reporting & stakeholder management: Aligning with internal teams and analyzing campaign performance.
-
5+ years of experience, with a significant portion being hands-on experience within Marketing Automation Platforms (at UI level), such as Braze or Salesforce Marketing Cloud. You are tech-savvy, but you do not need to write SQL queries.
-
Strong conceptual understanding of audience segmentation, data logic, and workflow planning.
-
Experience setting up personalization, conditional logic, and interpreting campaign analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, Lightdash).
-
Practical knowledge of GDPR and ACM regulations regarding customer communication.
-
Fluency in English, preferably also in Dutch.
-
Availability for 32-40 hours per week.
-
Diplomatically assertive: You will work with a variety of stakeholders (designers, copywriters, and the Growth team). You have the maturity to navigate these relationships smoothly, but you aren't afraid to say 'no' to protect the overall customer journey.
-
A "structural eagle-eye": You always spot that broken link, typo, or logical flaw in a flow before communication goes out to thousands of customers.
-
Process-driven: You love creating order out of chaos and effortlessly maintain an overview, even when 20 projects are running simultaneously.
-
Comfortable with ambiguity: We are building from the ground up; you enjoy the fact that things aren't set in stone yet and love brainstorming the best path forward.
In many organizations, Campaign Specialists are treated like an internal ticket service—executing ad-hoc newsletter requests thrown over the fence by other departments. At Vandebron, you are the director. You own the calendar and the logic.
Additionally, this is a rare greenfield opportunity. Most marketers inherit a platform cluttered with 'spaghetti logic' they aren't allowed to touch. Here, you get to build the entire marketing automation ecosystem into a modern, data-driven machine. Setting up this omnichannel infrastructure from scratch is an absolute career-definer that will instantly elevate your resume from an executor to a strategic architect. Best of all, you'll do this without corporate red tape: if you see an opportunity, you test it immediately with your tech partner.

-
