- Develop and maintain automated test setups for PIC characterization - Design mechanical tooling and fixtures for high-precision optical alignment - Implement vision-based alignment systems to optimize testing workflows - Develop automation scripts and user interfaces (Python-based) - Collaborate closely with PIC designers, packaging engineers, and system architects - Define and improve test methodologies and qualification criteria - Analyze measurement data and extract key performance metrics and insights
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Physics or related field, preferably Integrated Optics - Hands-on experience in photonics or semiconductor test environments - Strong programming skills in Python (automation, GUI development) - Familiarity with instrumentation and control frameworks (open-source preferred) - Experience with vision systems, image recognition, or alignment algorithms - Solid understanding of: Optical fiber alignment Optical interfacing
