The digital customer journey at Wellis is growing rapidly and becoming more complex. To take it to the next level, we're looking for a Mobile Developer (iOS & Android). You will own everything that touches our mobile experience — from the very first app open to long‑term retention. With your knowledge of native iOS and Android development, mobile UX, and connected health features, you'll make the Wellis app smarter, more personal, and truly engaging. It's time for an experienced mobile specialist to raise our app experience to benchmark level in the healthcare and wellness world.
Wellis is a fast-growing healthtech scale-up that is reinventing one of the most traditional sectors: healthcare. What started just three years ago has already grown into a company with tens of thousands of customers, and we are only at the beginning. By combining medical expertise with technology and data, we make healthcare smarter, more efficient, and more personal.
Our mission is to improve everyday lives by making care accessible, personal, and seamless. Through our platform, people can take control of their health journey with trusted medical support, smart digital tools, and tailored programs. We move fast, challenge conventions, and build solutions that truly make an impact, because we believe better healthcare should be within everyone's reach.
As a Mobile Developer, you'll take the lead in shaping the next generation of the Wellis app. You'll translate designs into seamless native experiences across iOS and Android, integrate smart health features, and build the foundation for a scalable, content-rich wellness platform. Your job is to ensure the Wellis app feels intuitive, personal, and genuinely supportive throughout the user's health journey — far beyond a simple e-commerce transaction.
-
Take end-to-end ownership of the Wellis app — from first MVP to a mature, scalable product.
-
Translate UX/UI designs from Figma into high-quality, native iOS and Android experiences.
-
Design, build, and maintain complex app features around health, wellness, and coaching — far beyond a simple e‑commerce checkout.
-
Integrate with Apple HealthKit, Google Fit, wearables, and other device capabilities to create smart, data-driven user journeys.
-
Collaborate closely with backend engineers to connect the app to our GCP-based, API-first platform.
-
Implement localization and multi-market capabilities so the app can scale across countries and languages.
-
Ensure app performance, reliability, and security, especially around sensitive health data.
-
Act as a sparring partner for product, UX, and C-level on mobile strategy, roadmap, and technical choices.
You'll report directly to the CTO, who brings deep experience in building scalable digital platforms and high-impact mobile products. You'll work closely with our UX/UI partners, backend engineers, data team, and medical & customer care teams — with plenty of room to take initiative yourself. As we're building our mobile capabilities from the ground up, the product & tech domain is growing fast, and you'll have the opportunity to play a key role in shaping our mobile app vision and future mobile team.
-
Monday: Review the current iOS and Android app backlog, clarify requirements with Product, and translate new UX/UI designs from Figma into technical tasks.
-
Tuesday: Implement new iOS and Android features in Swift and Kotlin, pair with backend engineers to refine APIs, and push an internal test build for feedback.
-
Wednesday: Integrate Apple HealthKit, Google Fit, or other device data, improve performance and stability, and fix bugs discovered in recent releases.
-
Thursday: Sync with designers and stakeholders on upcoming wellness and coaching flows, refine the app architecture, and improve code quality through refactoring and reviews.
-
Friday: Prepare and ship a new TestFlight or App Store build, monitor key app KPIs and crash reports, and share progress, learnings, and next-steps with the wider product & tech team.
-
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in native mobile app development, with proven expertise in both iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin/Java).
-
Deep experience building and shipping complex, content-rich, highly interactive apps (beyond basic e‑commerce/check-out flows).
-
Experienced in integrating mobile apps with cloud backends and APIs (preferably GCP, but AWS/Azure experience is welcome).
-
Comfortable working with design tools and workflows (e.g. Figma) and translating UX/UI concepts into smooth native mobile experiences.
-
You are an early AI adapter and know how to leverage AI in your work.
-
Combine strong engineering craft with a product mindset: you think in terms of user journeys, personalization, and long-term scalability.
-
Strong collaborator and communicator across multiple disciplines (product, design, data, medical/clinical, customer care).
-
Fluent in English; experience in healthtech, wellness, or other data-sensitive domains is a plus.
-
Salary range €5.000 - € 8.000 gross per month (depending on experience)
-
Pension plan
-
Learning budget
-
Monthly personal budget (Alleo)
-
Hybrid working: partly from our new office in central Rotterdam (2 days)
-
20 days of remote working per year
-
Working from home allowance (2 days a week)
-
A culture of short lines, speed, and continuous improvement — where pragmatism and impact matter.
-
The opportunity to help build a fast-growing healthtech scale-up from the inside.
