Help us build the future of circular concrete
At everox, we are transforming waste concrete into high-value circular building materials. Our mission is ambitious: reducing the environmental impact of one of the world’s largest industries by creating sustainable alternatives for cement, sand and aggregates.
Following the successful operation of our pilot plant in Rotterdam, we are preparing for commercial scale-up. To support this next phase, we are looking for an experienced Concrete Technologist who will play a key role in validating product performance, developing testing methodologies and ensuring product quality as we move towards industrial production.
About the role
As Concrete Technologist, you will be responsible for planning, executing and interpreting laboratory testing activities for our innovative cementitious materials.
This is a hands-on role that combines laboratory work, data analysis and technical decision-making. You will not only perform tests, but also help determine which tests matter, how they should be executed and how results should be translated into actionable insights for our R&D, engineering and operations teams.
You will become one of the key technical experts within our materials team and help establish the testing standards for a new generation of circular cement products.
What you’ll do
Cement & concrete testing
- Develop, prepare and test cementitious formulations using everox materials.
- Cast and evaluate mortar and concrete specimens.
- Perform physical and mechanical testing on fresh and hardened materials.
- Plan and coordinate testing campaigns aligned with R&D and pilot plant activities.
- Support qualification of new products, formulations and process conditions.
Data analysis & technical interpretation
- Analyse laboratory results and identify trends, deviations and opportunities.
- Translate test outcomes into practical recommendations for scale-up and product development.
- Support technical reporting and decision-making.
- Maintain high standards of traceability, documentation and data quality.
Laboratory ownership
- Manage day-to-day laboratory operations and testing workflows.
- Maintain equipment, moulds and testing infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and quality standards.
- Contribute to developing and improving SOPs and testing methodologies.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Work closely with researchers, process engineers and pilot plant operators.
- Collaborate with analytical specialists working on XRD, XRF, TGA and PSD analyses.
- Support customer sample preparation and technical validation activities.
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree (HBO) or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Concrete Technology, Chemistry or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with concrete, mortar and cementitious material testing.
- Strong understanding of how material composition influences performance.
- Experience interpreting laboratory data and translating results into technical recommendations.
- Comfortable working both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Fluent in English.
Nice to have
- Experience with Dutch or European concrete and cement standards.
- Knowledge of NEN, EN or CUR guidelines.
- Experience developing or adapting testing methodologies.
- Experience within a scale-up, pilot plant or industrial R&D environment.
- Dutch language skills.
What we offer
- Yearly salary between €60,000 and €75,000 depending on experience.
- Pension plan at Zwitserleven.
- Equity options (ESOP) to grow with the company’s success.
- Impactful role in a fast-growing, mission-driven startup.
- Opportunity to work on breakthrough circular cement technologies.
- Direct influence on product development and industrial scale-up.
- A highly ambitious and international team working on one of the biggest sustainability challenges in construction.
Ready to help decarbonise the concrete industry? We’d love to hear from you.
