Within Tesla Vehicle Software organization, the Service Engineering team serves as a link between service, manufacturing, and development teams worldwide for all vehicle sub-systems. We develop vehicle software and diagnostic tools to ensure that customer vehicles are diagnosed and repaired accurately, reliably, and as efficiently as possible.
We are looking for a highly motivated software engineering intern with solid full-stack coding skills to create engaging and intuitive diagnostic interfaces on the vehicle’s touchscreen. You will also work on the backend systems to process and ingest vehicle signals and alerts, run scripts for calibration, self-test, and configuration and design end-to-end tests. Through internships with Tesla Vehicle Software, university students have the opportunity to learn and grow their professional skillset while working on complex real-world engineering problems. This hands-on experience, which includes software development, integration, testing, and deployment provides a valuable introduction to the industry and Tesla’s dynamic work environment, complementing university learnings with practical experience, under the guidance of an assigned mentor.
What You'll Do-
Rapid prototyping / mockup of in-vehicle service experiences
- Design, code and debug User Interfaces and APIs
- Develop end-to-end tests
- Collaborate with a cross-functional teams of hardware and software engineers
What You'll Bring-
Currently enrolled in programs related to Engineering / Computer Science
- Solid experience with JavaScript/TypeScript (React)
- Experience with Rust, C/C++
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix systems
- Thrives in fast-paced environments with a proactive approach
- Level C1 in English (spoken and written)
- Nice to have experience with Figma, Svelte, Three.js
