Lead software engineering with purpose. Combine hands-on development, mentoring, Scrum-based team guidance, and technical advisory. Help deliver complex decision support software in a Cloud-Native fintech environment.
This role is ideal for an experienced Java engineer who wants to grow towards greater technical and team responsibility.
You will help build and develop our advanced financial planning API platform. You guide colleagues in their technical and personal growth and help the team work effectively. You will apply Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, and modern engineering practices. The work centers on complex, algorithm-driven decision support software. Maintainability, architectural quality, security, and system performance are essential. You contribute to implementation, technical direction, and continuous improvement. The role also includes DevOps responsibilities for client environments on our Kubernetes-based Microsoft Azure Cloud platform. From an engineering perspective, you provide technical advisory by explaining solution options, clarifying non-functional and security considerations, and supporting stakeholder and client discussions.
You will join an engineering group of 15 skilled engineers, organized into multiple feature teams. Collaboration is at the core of our work culture. We work using the SCRUM methodology and collaborate closely with fellow software engineers, information engineers, test engineers, product owners, stakeholders, and clients. We actively share our skills and domain knowledge, so you can expect a steep learning curve in mastering our complex financial planning system.
You are an experienced software engineer who combines strong technical expertise with a collaborative and coaching mindset. As a senior team member, you take responsibility for your work and enjoy building high-quality software, guiding colleagues, and driving continuous team improvement. You express your perspective clearly, while staying open to other views and help create alignment across engineers, product owners, stakeholders, and clients.
You are motivated by complex software challenges and interested in financial planning technology. You like working on systems where domain knowledge, algorithms, architecture, and security all matter. You connect with Ortec Finance’s purpose and are open to growing further in a leadership or team guidance role. And of course, you identify yourself with our core values.
In addition, the following aspects are important:
You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, or comparable experience and background.
You have solid experience in Java software development, including complex API-based or decision-support systems.
You have experience mentoring colleagues and helping teams improve their collaboration, effectiveness, and delivery.
You have experience with application architecture, maintainable design, and modern software engineering practices.
You can advise technical and non-technical stakeholders by explaining solution options, trade-offs and non-functional & security considerations clearly.
You have experience with DevOps and Cloud-Native delivery.
You are fluent in English.
We offer you a challenging and rewarding role in a growing company, while being part of an inspirational global business with a lot of opportunities for personal and professional growth. The salary range is between 90,000 and 112,500 EUR on a yearly basis, including holiday allowance, performance bonus and a fixed thirteenth month, depending on your role, competency profile and experience.
