Integration Engineer

Your role
As an Integration Engineer, you play a key role in delivering complex airport systems from design into operation. Reporting to the Integration Manager, you work closely with Solution Architects, engineering teams, suppliers, and customers, you help transform system designs into reliable, operational solutions.
You are responsible for verifying that systems perform as designed and meet operational and customer requirements. Through integration, testing, troubleshooting, and validation activities, you identify issues early, resolve technical challenges, and reduce risks before they impact system performance or project delivery.
Your work directly contributes to successful customer acceptance and operational readiness, ensuring systems perform as designed and are ready for a smooth handover into daily airport operations.
What do you do

Execute integration, system, and customer acceptance tests in factory and on-site environments.

Develop test plans, test cases, and test procedures based on system design, customer requirements, and risk assessments.

Prepare and configure test environments and test tooling.

Analyse test results, identify root causes, and verify solutions.
- Support the integration of mechanical, controls, software, and IT components into a single operational system.

Collaborate with engineers, suppliers, customers, and project stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the integration and testing phases.

Monitor progress, document results, and report findings.

Contribute to the successful handover of systems into operational use.
What do you bring

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Industrial Automation, Information Technology, Logistics, or a related field.

You have a good understanding of systems engineering principles and structured testing methodologies.
- You are an analytical problem solver who can balance attention to detail with a system-level perspective.

You understand how different system components interact and contribute to overall system performance.

You work effectively with engineers, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders in multidisciplinary environments.

You communicate clearly and confidently in English.

You are proactive, take ownership, and enjoy solving technical challenges.
- You’re willing to travel, for about 60% of your time. Travel depends on the project phases.

Because of the environments in which our systems operate, such as airports, a security clearance (VOG and in some cases VGB) can be part of the role.

Experience with industrial automation, PLCs, software integration, or IT infrastructure.

Experience with automated test tools or test management tools.

ISTQB or similar testing certification.
Your department
The IT & Integration department is part of the business unit Airport Solutions within Vanderlande Industries and is responsible for the system design, testing, and integration of Airport systems worldwide. We are working for European customers like Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, London Heathrow Airport but also for our international customers like Hong Kong International Airport and JFK.

This position offers a competitive salary range of € 3867 to € 5248 gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.
