Als groeiend bedrijf verwelkomen we graag een afstudeerder op onze R&D ID afdeling. Je wordt onderdeel van het Metering Product Management Team dat bestaat uit negen ervaren hard- en softwarespecialisten en product managers. Het team wordt aangestuurd door Dennis van Elk, de team lead.
Onze meters worden onder andere toegepast in laadpalen. Het meten van de stroom kan op meerdere manieren, met een shunt (weerstand), met een stroomtang of met een hal-sensor. Elk type sensor heeft zijn voor- en nadelen, een shunt is goedkoop maar wordt warm, de stroomtang is vooral geschikt voor wisselstroom, we weten niet of de hall sensor genoeg bereik heeft en nauwkeurig genoeg is.
Het doel van deze afstudeeropdracht is een elektrometer te bouwen die geschikt is voor het meten van stromen in een DC snellader. Denk hierbij aan maximale stromen van 1000A en 1500V.
De opdracht:
1: Onderzoeken welke meetprincipes er zijn voor het meten van een grote dc-stroom.
2: Test of de gevonden oplossingen aan de specificaties voldoet.
3: Ontwikkel een prototype elektrometer die stroom en spanning kan meten.
4: Optioneel: zorg ervoor dat de meetschakeling galvanisch gescheiden is.
In deze opdracht staat het opdoen van ervaring over de meetprincipes centraal. Haalt de gekozen techniek de nauwkeurigheid? Hoe wordt de hall sensor geplaatst? Is er een ferriet kern nodig? En we zijn natuurlijk benieuwd wat jij verder wil onderzoeken.
Het het doel dat je zowel het (voor)onderzoek, als een demo-waardige proefopstelling realiseert.

About the Team
As a growing company, we are happy to welcome a graduation intern to our R&D ID department. You will become part of the Metering Product Management Team, which consists of nine experienced hardware and software specialists and product managers. The team is led by Dennis van Elk, Team Lead.
About the graduation project
Our meters are used in applications such as EV charging stations. Electrical current can be measured in several ways: using a shunt resistor, a current transformer (clamp), or a Hall-effect sensor. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages. A shunt is cost-effective but generates heat; current clamps are mainly suitable for AC; and it is currently unclear whether a Hall sensor provides sufficient range and accuracy for this application.
The goal of this graduation project is to build an electrometer suitable for measuring currents in a DC fast charger, with maximum currents of 1000 A and voltages up to 1500 V.
The assignment
1 Research different measurement principles for measuring large DC currents.
2 Test whether the identified solutions meet the required specifications.
3 Develop a prototype electrometer capable of measuring both current and voltage.
4 Optional: ensure that the measurement circuit is galvanically isolated.
This project focuses on gaining hands-on experience with different measurement principles. Does the selected technology achieve the required accuracy? How should the Hall sensor be positioned? Is a ferrite core necessary? And of course, we are curious about what additional aspects you would like to explore.
The objective is for you to deliver both the (preliminary) research and a demo-ready experimental setup.

- You are eager to further deepen your knowledge of PCB layout, schematic design, EMC, and safety.
- You are available from September to join our team and successfully complete this project.
- You have a good command of the English language, both spoken and written.
- You work accurately, enjoy technical challenges, and take a proactive approach.
- You enjoy working on-site with the team. Nieuw‑Vennep is easily accessible for you (less commuting = better ️).
What internship allowance will you receive?
A gross allowance of €750 per month based on a 40-hour workweek, plus travel reimbursement if applicable and required.
