About Uber Payments
Uber Payments B.V. is the "financial engine" that ensures Uber moves money legally and safely across Europe, under a licence from the Dutch Central Bank (DNB). As we prepare for our next phase of growth, we are investing in a leaner, more automated finance function, and are seeking a Finance & Data Analyst to play a pivotal role in this transformation.
About the role
This hands-on role is at the heart of our finance and data operations. You will be responsible for operationalising safeguarding measures, reviewing financial and regulatory reports, performing financial analysis, and acting as the primary custodian of our finance data domain. Since much of our technical work-such as accounting, tax, and data analytics-is delivered by specialised internal teams, a significant part of your impact will come from coordinating these stakeholders, overseeing their output, and ensuring all deliverables are accurate and timely. Reporting to the Finance Lead, you will be a natural fit if you combine a strong foundation in accounting and reporting, are highly comfortable working with data, and are curious about using AI and automation to enhance financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and review monthly, statutory, and regulatory financial reporting, while supporting the monthly close and consolidation processes.
- Support the preparation of audited financial statements and DNB regulatory filings.
- Perform financial analysis - including ratio analysis, variance investigation, and trend commentary - to support management reporting and decision-making.
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
- Contribute to executive-level reporting, including the development of comprehensive monthly finance reports.
Finance Data Management
- Act as a key owner of the finance data domain, ensuring critical financial data is complete, accurate and up to date.
- Maintain and improve finance reporting queries, dashboards and repositories that track partner payment obligations.
- Partner with the data analytics team to source, validate and refine data pipelines for financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline reporting through advanced tools and AI-enabled solutions.
Stakeholder Management & Controls
- Coordinate daily deliverables with internal and outsourced teams (accounting, tax, and data analytics), reviewing and approving their output according to the four-eyes principle.
- Monitor performance against Finance Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure quality and timeliness.
- Execute and evidence key finance controls in line with company and regulatory policies.
- Support reconciliation and safeguarding processes for regulated funds.
- Help document, test and improve finance processes and controls, contributing to cross-regional synergies within the REC group.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- A professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, RA, RC or equivalent), or substantial progress towards one - highly preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally within a Big 4 firm, financial services or the payments industry.
- Solid grounding in financial reporting, accounting principles and financial analysis.
- Comfort working with data: strong Excel skills (pivot tables, large datasets); exposure to Power Query, SQL or data-warehouse concepts is a nice-to-have.
- Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate and review work delivered by other teams.
- An understanding of core AI concepts and genuine interest in using automation to improve how finance works.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to keep a helicopter view while drilling into the detail.
