Het bereiden van medicatie in ziekenhuisapotheken gebeurt nu nog vaak grotendeels handmatig, met alle risico's, tijdsdruk en foutgevoeligheid van dien. Inmiddels lopen ziekenhuisapotheken over van het werk, maar lukt het steeds moeilijker om voldoende mensen te vinden om dat werk te doen. Bij SmartCompounders bouwen wij daar de oplossing voor: hightech machines die dit proces automatiseren en apotheken wereldwijd verlichten.

Over SmartCompounders
We staan aan de start van een grote groei en werken toe naar een positie als dé toonaangevende speler binnen de automatisering van ziekenhuisapotheken. Dat betekent dat je nu instapt op een moment waarop je écht mede bepaalt hoe onze machines en ons bedrijf er over vijf jaar uitzien. Geen vastgeroeste processen, maar volop ruimte om mee te bouwen aan iets groots.
Wat daarbij uniek is: bij ons ga je niet werken aan iets dat pas over jaren de deur uit gaat. Normaal gesproken hebben we binnen 6 maanden een werkend prototype staan, en binnen een jaar staat de machine daadwerkelijk bij de klant in de apotheek. Jij speelt in dat hele traject een grote, zichtbare rol: van eerste schets tot machine die dagelijks patiënten helpt.
SmartCompounders is bovendien een echt familiebedrijf. Dat merk je in hoe we bouwen: we denken in jaren, niet in kwartaalcijfers, en zijn niet op zoek naar snelle winsten of een snelle exit. We investeren liever in een goed product, een sterk team en duurzame klantrelaties. Als je bij ons komt werken, bouw je dus mee aan iets met een lange adem.
Elk project begint bij ons met een idee, dat we samen met de klant uitwerken tot een functioneel prototype, om dit vervolgens te ontwikkelen tot een eerste productieversie. Ter uitbreiding van ons team zoeken we een werktuigbouwkundig of industrieel ontwerper die wil meebouwen aan de volgende generatie machines.
Wat ga je doen?
Als Mechanical Engineer werk je mee aan het volledige ontwikkeltraject van onze machines: van concept tot prototype en doorontwikkeling richting productie. Je denkt na over slimme mechanische oplossingen, test je ontwerpen in de praktijk en stemt af met elektronica- en software-engineers.
Je werkzaamheden bestaan o.a. uit:
- Ontwikkelen en uitwerken van nieuwe machines en machineonderdelen
- Bouwen van prototypes en testen van nieuwe ontwerpen
- Optimaliseren van bestaande mechanische systemen (performance, betrouwbaarheid, assemblage)
- Samenwerken met andere disciplines (elektronica en software)
- Samenwerken met klanten
- Ondersteunen bij support vragen, onderhoud en nieuwe installaties bij klanten
- Documenteren van ontwerpkeuzes en technische specificaties
Wat breng je mee?
- HBO/WO-opleiding in werktuigbouwkunde, industrieel ontwerpen of mechatronica
- Ervaring met of sterke affiniteit voor machinebouw en productontwikkeling
- Je bent creatief, technisch onderlegd en praktisch ingesteld
- Ervaring met 3D CAD (SolidWorks of vergelijkbaar)
- Je denkt in oplossingen en werkt graag multidisciplinair
- Goede beheersing van Nederlands en Engels (Duits is een pré)

- Bij een servicebezoek in het buitenland bieden we de mogelijkheid om je verblijf te verlengen, zodat je na het werk ook zelf de omgeving kunt verkennen

Every project starts with an idea, which we work out together with the client into a functional prototype, before developing it further into a first production version. To grow our team, we're looking for a mechanical or industrial designer who wants to help build the next generation of our machines.
What will you be doing?
As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll be involved in the full development process of our machines: from concept to prototype and further development toward production. You'll think through smart mechanical solutions, test your designs in practice, and coordinate closely with our electronics and software engineers.
Your work will include:
- Developing and detailing new machines and machine components
- Building prototypes and testing new designs
- Optimizing existing mechanical systems (performance, reliability, assembly)
- Collaborating with other disciplines (electronics and software)
- Working directly with clients
- Supporting support requests, maintenance, and new installations at client sites
- Documenting design choices and technical specifications
What you bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial design, or mechatronics
- Experience with, or a strong affinity for, machine building and product development
- You're creative, technically skilled, and hands-on
- Experience with 3D CAD (SolidWorks or similar)
- You think in solutions and enjoy working across disciplines
- Good command of Dutch and English (German is a plus)
