We are seeking an experienced European Business Development Manager - Managed Transportation to support the startup and growth of our Managed Transportation business across Europe.
This role is responsible for developing and managing a high-performing carrier network across Groupage, FTL, Bulk, and specialized transportation services. The successful candidate will build strategic carrier partnerships, support transportation solution design, improve network performance, and ensure sufficient capacity to support customer transportation programs.
Working closely with Operations, Account Management, Procurement, and Business Development teams, the European Business Development Manager will play a critical role in creating scalable transportation solutions that deliver service excellence, network flexibility, and long-term value for customers.

Key Responsibilities:
Carrier Network Development
- Develop and execute carrier network strategies that support Managed Transportation customer programs across Europe.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with transportation providers across Groupage, FTL, Bulk, and specialized transportation sectors.
- Identify, qualify, onboard, and develop new carrier partners to strengthen network coverage and service capabilities.
- Expand carrier relationships in key geographic markets and industry verticals.
- Ensure adequate carrier capacity and service capabilities to support customer growth and operational requirements.
Transportation Solution Support
- Partner with Account Management and Business Development teams to support customer transportation solutions and network designs.
- Provide carrier market expertise during customer implementations, transportation tenders, and business development initiatives.
- Support transportation procurement activities and carrier selection processes.
Carrier Performance & Relationship Management
- Establish and monitor carrier performance standards and service expectations.
- Conduct regular business reviews with strategic carrier partners.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to service, reliability, communication, and operational performance.
- Develop corrective action plans when carrier performance falls below expectations.
- Promote long-term partnerships focused on mutual growth and operational excellence.
Market Intelligence & Strategic Planning
- Monitor transportation market trends, capacity developments, pricing conditions, and regulatory changes across Europe.
- Maintain visibility into Groupage, FTL, Bulk, and specialized transportation markets.
- Provide market intelligence and strategic recommendations to leadership teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve network efficiency, carrier utilization, and transportation performance.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Account Management, Procurement, and Business Development teams.
- Foster a carrier-centric culture focused on partnership, service quality, and continuous improvement.
- Support strategic growth initiatives across the Managed Transportation organization.
Experience & Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, freight forwarding, carrier management, transportation procurement, or managed transportation.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred.
- Experience developing and managing carrier networks across European transportation markets.
- Strong understanding of Groupage, FTL, Bulk transportation, and carrier operations.
- Experience working with Groupage/LTL providers and strategic carrier partnerships is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting transportation tenders, customer implementations, and managed transportation solutions is preferred.
- Fluent English both written and spoken. Addional European language is a plus.

- Strong knowledge of the European Groupage/LTL Network
- Strong understanding of European FTL transportation markets.
- Familiarity with Bulk transportation, tanker operations, and ADR-regulated freight is considered a strong advantage.
- Understanding of European transportation regulations and carrier compliance requirements.
