The Role
As a Product Manager battery systems, your focus is on the selection and introduction of the right BESS building blocks from existing and new suppliers to fill the iwell product portfolio. Further, you productize specific use cases with these BESS building blocks, by e.g. discovering whether DC-coupling or island grid solutions are propositions that should be added to the energy solutions delivered by iwell. You own the discovery, prioritisation, design, and delivery within your specific technology domain, focusing on a planning horizon of 1 to 3 quarters ahead. The role is highly cross-functional, requiring you to act as the primary advocate representing the customer's voice during design and execution, translating strategic opportunities into impactful features while taking the overarching long-term product strategy into account.
You will be joining a structured two-layer product organization:

Product Lead: Determines what portfolio direction we pursue.

Product Manager: Determines what capabilities we build and improve (specifically focusing on our internal Battery Controller and hardware integration).
Key Responsibilities

Maintain a deep understanding of the 'Jobs-to-be-Done' (JTBD), market needs, competitor trends, and user behaviors specific to your battery technology domain.

Translate market insights and opportunity assessments into an actionable roadmap for your domain, ensuring active alignment with the overarching product strategy.

Provide clear direction to tech leads and engineering teams, write product specifications (PRDs), manage delivery risks, and ensure the successful delivery of new features.

Collaborate closely with other Product Managers, UX Designers, Business Development, and Sales to define value propositions, optimize usability, and ensure successful go-to-market launches.

Manage the product lifecycle for your technology domain, including analyzing when new hardware introductions are necessary and executing the hardware recycling strategy.

Define success metrics and set up analytics to track usage, adoption, and overall product performance based on overarching goals.
What we are looking for

Proven experience in product management, with a track record in complex product environments.

Proven experience in energy storage or renewable energy product management.

Well able to oversee the entire product landscape and how the owned product domain contributes to the success of the total landscape.

Strong technical understanding of energy storage, electrotechnical systems, including scalability, modularity, and operational considerations.

Demonstrated ability to synthesize market trends, customer needs, and business strategy into actionable product roadmaps and features for your team.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with fluency in English.

Capable of influencing and inspiring at every level, from individual contributors to C-suite.

Experience in AI-supported product development.

International working experience is a bonus
