Howden Maintenance Partners is part of Chart Industries and is a growing service company within the group, specializing in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of industrial machines, both electrically and mechanically rotating. Think of electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, generators, steam turbines, turbo compressors, reciprocating compressors, and expanders. This can be done on-site at the customer’s location or at one of our facilities.

As a Mechanical Technician , you are responsible for performing advanced mechanical overhauls and repairs in our workshop or on-site. You act as a technical expert and play a key role in guiding junior technicians while safeguarding quality, safety, and efficiency.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: €18 – €25 gross per hour (blue-collar/operational employee status), depending on experience and technical expertise
Your salary is determined by:
Relevant hands-on experience with rotating equipment
Technical expertise (pumps, gearboxes, compressors, etc.)
Ability to work independently and take ownership
Leadership skills and mentoring capabilities

? Your Role
As a Mechanical Technician , you are responsible for performing high-quality mechanical work and supporting the team with your expertise.
Key responsibilities:
Perform assembly, overhaul and repair of rotating equipment (pumps, gearboxes, compressors, blowers, etc.)
Dismantle, inspect and reassemble mechanical installations based on technical drawings
Apply precision techniques such as alignment, fitting and clearance adjustments
Use specialized tools such as torque wrenches, bearing pullers and heating equipment
Monitor work quality and ensure projects are completed according to standards
Support and guide junior technicians on technical matters
Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with procedures
Record measurements, work performed and findings accurately
Report deviations and contribute to corrective actions
✅ What You Bring
Technical education (Mechanical or Electromechanical) or equivalent through experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or repair
Strong knowledge of rotating equipment and mechanical processes
Valid VCA certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Good command of Dutch; English is a plus

Experience in industrial sectors (chemical, petrochemical, energy, etc.)
Experience mentoring or coaching junior colleagues
Experience with precision techniques such as alignment and fitting
Flexible mindset and willingness to work in different environments
