Purpose of the role
The Junior Project Manager leads projects from early FEL phases through execution to commissioning, qualification, and handover. They collaborate with cross-functional teams—Production, EHS, Quality, Finance, Maintenance, and Procurement—to deliver projects aligned with business goals.
They manage pharmaceutical projects such as equipment renewal, building modifications, and HVAC/utilities, typically handling two small-to-medium projects per year with a budget of €1–2 million. Ambitious to grow into a Project Manager role, they report to the Portfolio Manager Pharmaceutical GMP Projects.
Welcome to the team
Engineering & Site Strategy is a Center of Excellence within Pharmaceutical Operations. You will report directly to the Portfolio Manager and will support the project implementation activities for Investment Projects at the manufacturing site in Oss. With an annual budget of 20 – 40 M€ the team realizes production scale-ups and modifications on facility and /or production equipment.
Main responsibilities

Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resources, milestones, and risk assessments, ensuring alignment with business objectives

Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams (internal and external), assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure accountability while maintaining team engagement

Define clear, measurable goals and deliverables, maintaining a strong focus on results and proactively addressing challenges

Act as the main point of contact for stakeholders, aligning expectations, facilitating communication, and providing regular updates on progress, risks, and achievements

Identify and manage project risks, implement mitigation actions, and adjust plans in response to changing conditions

Resolve issues in a timely and structured manner, making informed decisions to keep projects on track

Monitor and report on project performance using KPIs, identifying improvement opportunities and ensuring successful delivery

Manage project budgets and resources effectively, ensuring optimal allocation and cost control

Ensure all deliverables meet quality and safety standards through structured reviews and compliance with project objectives

Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying and implementing enhancements in project procedures, tools, and ways of working in collaboration with Engineering & Services and project teams
Your profile

HBO (Polytechnic) level of thinking and working
-
2+ years of experience in industrial implementation projects (pharma or food industry preferred)

Experience with both architectural projects and technical system installations

Strong focus on quality and safety

Self-driven, independent, and able to prioritize effectively

Proactive, with a hands-on “go-and-see” mindset

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Service- and customer-oriented

Able to communicate effectively with both senior management and technical staff

Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken

Experience with projects in execution planning and budget control
