You're a data engineer or senior BI professional with solid engineer foundations who wants to take the next step into Microsoft Fabric. You already understand what it means to build and maintain data systems in production, and now you're ready to deepen your expertise on the platform that's becoming the standard for many enterprises. You're pragmatic, eager to grow fast, and excited to bring engineering best practices to the Fabric ecosystem.
Xebia Data is one of the divisions of Xebia Netherlands, which is renowned for its expertise in building strong Data and AI practices to deliver value to our clients. In the past, our team has predicted daily bread demand for millions of loaves, built advanced energy-saving algorithms at a national scale, and established data innovation labs at large multinational companies!
You’ll work with the sharpest data professionals in Europe, people who are not only technically brilliant but also generous with their knowledge. We enjoy the benefits of being part of a large organization while maintaining the energetic atmosphere of a scale-up. Our commitment to our community is strong; we are deeply rooted in the local landscape.
This program is designed for experienced data professionals who want to specialize in Microsoft Fabric. Whether you're a data engineer looking to upskill into Fabric or an engineer with Fabric experience ready to embrace more data engineering-driven practices, this is your accelerator.
You'll kick off with an intensive week of hands-on training led by our team. The training covers not just Fabric as a platform, but also the underlying foundations it's built on top of, so you understand the why, not just the how. After that, you'll dive straight into client projects with the support of our experienced Fabric engineers by your side.
Microsoft Fabric is becoming the go-to data platform for many organizations, and teams are eager to unlock its full potential. That's where you come in. You'll help clients adopt Fabric the right way: with proper engineering practices, reproducible deployments, testable code, and architectures that scale.
You use your communication skills as much as your technical skills. You explain your design choices, align stakeholders, and help client teams make confident decisions about their data platform. You will be surrounded by experts from diverse fields and learn from different environments and industries.
You will work on projects of varying lengths. Some are three weeks, some are one year, most are in between. Every project is different, as is every client. You'll work in mixed teams of Xebians and client engineers, contributing directly to the backbone that powers data products.
When on-site with clients, you may encounter something very difficult to solve. At Xebia we work as a team and we've got your back. Everyone is just a message away and ready to help! We say People First, and we mean it.
This position requires at least 3 years of relevant professional experience in data engineering, BI engineering, software engineering, or a related technical field. You don't need Fabric experience; that's what the program is for. What matters is that you have a strong technical foundation and the drive to develop yourself quickly.
Good matches for this program include data engineers who have worked with tools like Spark, Airflow, dbt, or cloud data platforms and want to add Fabric to their toolkit, as well as engineers from adjacent fields such as senior BI, Analytics Engineer professionals who already apply engineering best practices (e.g., version control, CI/CD) and want to move deeper into data engineering on Fabric.
That said, we like to be amazed. If you have unique achievements, like contributing to open-source projects or building something exceptional, we encourage you to apply.
If you already have extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and are a Data Engineer, consider our regular Fabric Data Engineer role instead.
✅ You have solid experience in data engineering, BI engineering, or software engineering and want to specialize in Microsoft Fabric.
✅ You care about software engineering fundamentals like version control, testing, CI/CD, and code review, and want to bring these to the Fabric ecosystem.
✅ You're eager to develop yourself quickly and aren't afraid of a steep learning curve.
✅ You have experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and/or tools like Spark, Terraform, dbt, or Airflow.
✅ You like working for different clients and enjoy learning in new environments and meeting new people on a regular basis.
❌ You prefer clicking through UIs over writing code. We believe in engineering our data platforms, not just configuring them.
❌You're not interested in how things work under the hood. We want people who dig deeper.
❌ You don't enjoy sharing knowledge. We write, speak, and teach because it's part of who we are.
❌ You prefer to work alone and get drained from having to explain why you made certain technical choices.
❌ You're looking for a junior or entry-level position. This program requires at least 3 years of professional experience.
