Crave is seeking a passionate and experienced Head Baker to lead our plant-based baking program and oversee daily production of our signature pastries and cakes. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a hands-on leadership position, brings creativity to the kitchen, and is excited about pushing the boundaries of plant-based baking. Your expertise in flavor development, lamination, and bakery operations will help shape the future of Crave’s offerings.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of plant-based bakery recipes, including viennoiserie, laminated doughs, cakes, cookies, and other specialty items.
- Oversee daily production, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to Crave’s standards.
- Manage and mentor the baking team, fostering a positive and efficient kitchen environment.
- Collaborate on menu development, introducing seasonal items and innovative baked goods aligned with customer preferences and dietary needs.
- Maintain inventory, place ingredient orders, and ensure optimal stock levels.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Willing to participate in all necessary daily kitchen duties.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Baker or Senior Baker, preferably in a specialty bakery.
- Strong knowledge of lamination techniques and viennoiserie production.
- Familiarity with plant-based baking methods, ingredient alternatives, and allergen-friendly recipes.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
- Creative mindset with an eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
