About Prosus
Prosus is one of the world's largest consumer internet groups — a global investor and operator with a portfolio of 90+ companies spanning e-commerce, fintech, food delivery, and education technology across 100+ countries. Home to brands like iFood, OLX, PayU, and Takealot, we back bold entrepreneurs solving real problems at a meaningful scale. Sustainability is not a side programme — it is central to how we create long-term value for people and planet.
The Role
This is a newly created position for an AI engineer ready to deploy their skills where they can drive meaningful, scalable transformation. You will be the architect of an increasingly agentic sustainability function — building the systems, workflows, and infrastructure that replace manual effort with intelligent automation across Prosus’s global ESG and social impact operations.
Your remit is threefold:
redesign how sustainability data is collected, governed, and reported — moving from resource-intensive manual processes to AI-driven, audit-ready workflows that meet external compliance requirements;
build the end-to-end data and automation infrastructure for the Prosus Foundation (social impact), from funding applications through board approval to external impact reporting; and
serve as the innovation engine for a sustainability team that is actively embracing AI and digital tools as core operating infrastructure.
This role offers real ownership from day one.
What You’ll Do
Architect and lead the end-to-end redesign of Prosus’s ESG data infrastructure — from collection and governance to externally assured, ESRS-compliant annual reporting.
Build and deploy AI-driven automation across sustainability data collection and reporting workflows — eliminating manual effort at scale across the Group.
Design and maintain an intelligent, end-to-end process for the Prosus Foundation — automating everything from funding applications and board approvals through to external social impact reporting.
Partner with internal and external data owners, sustainability leads, and finance colleagues to optimise data definitions, ownership structures, and quality controls.
Build dashboards and reporting tools that make ESG performance transparent and accessible to both internal stakeholders and external audiences.
Identify, pilot, and embed automation and AI opportunities continuously — running experiments and scaling what works across the global sustainability team.
Apply AI and digital tooling to high-impact sustainability domains — including climate, business travel, platform workers, and beyond.
What We’re Looking For
3+ years of hands-on experience in AI engineering, data engineering, or automation — with a track record of building workflows, pipelines, or agentic systems that replace manual processes.
Proven ability to design and deploy automation using coding, AI tooling, scripting, or low-code/no-code platforms.
Working knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks (CSRD, ESRS, GRI, or ISSB) — whether gained through direct professional experience or demonstrably deep independent study.
Strong analytical skills: able to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, technology-driven solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English; confident presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Self-starter with high ownership — comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving progress without a detailed roadmap.
Right to work in the Netherlands (relocation support available — confirm with hiring team)
