Tiro Partners are seeking an entry level Data Engineer to join our client that provide a digital consultation platform for business insurance. They follow industry best practices when it comes to data, including Data Unit Testing, Clean coding, and utilising a mixed data stack.

What your role will involve:
- Develop and maintain scalable ETLs (queries, programs, automated processes) and create new data structures to enhance data quality, volume, and complexity.
- Collaborate with analytics and business teams to extract valuable insights from a centralised Data Lake, ensuring a single source of truth. This includes providing data models using business intelligence, data science, and other relevant tools, making data more accessible and driving a data-driven culture within the company.
- Write unit and integration tests, contribute to engineering documentation, and maintain an engineering wiki.
- Ensure data quality and production stability by utilising monitoring technologies and following excellent data development methodologies.
- Perform data analysis to troubleshoot data-related issues and assist in their resolution. Design data integrations and implement data cleaning processes.
- Work closely with other teams, product managers, and business users

- Effective communication skills and a mindset that embraces innovative thinking
- A degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or a related field (Machine Learning, Mathematics, Applied Statistics).
- At least 1 year of experience with one or more cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.)
- Proficiency in Python programming; additional experience in Java is a plus
- Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL data management and the Kimball Star Model Schema
- 2+ years of experience with ETL and Data Warehouse concepts
- Proficiency in German language or knowledge of Databricks is a plus
