So we are looking for a Project Manager Category Management who will help shape and implement best-in-class processes, governance, and ways of working, enabling our Category & Buying teams to deliver greater impact through collaboration, continuous improvement, and effective execution.
Your role
Project Manager of a Category Excellence team, you will play a critical role in defining, setting up, and implementing end-to-end processes that drive performance, standardization, and operational excellence across our Category & Buying organization.
You will lead and support cross-functional projects that enhance process governance, improve the quality of category plans, and drive the adoption of best practices.
Your focus is on bringing in industry best practices, building governance around key processes like category planning and product lifecycle management, and enabling teams to work smarter and deliver more impact.
This position is based in Varsseveld (at least once a week) & Utrecht or Leek following our hybrid work policy of 2–3 office days per week.
- Change Management & Category Planning Enablement. Drive change initiatives across C&B by analyzing performance, identifying improvement areas, and supporting the adoption of new tools, processes, and mindsets. Improve the quality and consistency of category plans through frameworks, templates, coaching, and strong alignment with business objectives and stakeholder needs.
- Tooling & Capability Building. Lead the development and deployment of tools that support category management and buying processes, ensuring teams are fully equipped, trained, and able to use them effectively in daily practice.
- Project & Process Governance. Lead and contribute to key initiatives such as product lifecycle management and sourcing strategy definition, embedding structure, discipline, and operational excellence into execution.
- Best Practice & Knowledge Sharing. Identify, gather, and promote internal and external best practices (e.g., FMCG, automotive, retail), enabling knowledge sharing through workshops, case studies, and structured learning sessions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement. Work closely with supply chain, finance, and data teams to drive end-to-end alignment, ensure process integration, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with clear reporting on progress, risks, and outcomes.
Your team
You will report to the Head of Category Buying Excellence in an organization consisting of multiple Project Managers focused on areas such as category planning, sourcing strategy, and process improvement. The Project Manager Category Management works closely with these peers and Category Managers as a sparring partner and enabler, driving change management, category planning, tooling, and process governance. The team operates internationally across Kramp Group markets, with a strong focus on standardization, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Who are you?
For this role, we have a few key requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of working experience.
Proven experience in project or program management, ideally within a commercial, buying, or category management environment.
Strong Strategic Execution skills, bringing structure, clarity, and progress to cross-functional initiatives.
Excellent Stakeholder Engagement skills, connecting and aligning teams to drive outcomes.
Continuous Improvement mindset, combining analytical thinking with fresh ideas and proven practices to elevate performance.
