We’re looking for a Senior backend developer

XABLU is seeking a Senior Backend Developer with expertise in a wide range of backend technologies (frontend development experience is a plus). Responsibilities include developing, testing and maintaining software solutions and ensuring code quality. Strong communication and teamwork are essential. What is the position?

As a Senior Backend Developer, you know all there is to know about development. You are passionate about the backend of applications as well as the frontend of the system. Through your understanding of databases, servers and clients, you have a holistic view on the architecture of the complete system. You know and use a wide range of different technologies and languages to develop applications.

What are you going to do?

You will be working on different software projects with an experienced team. Together with the team, you will determine the technical approach to solve an issue, code the technical solution and test the code quality. Your daily activity will be to produce scalable software solutions, as well as maintaining or upgrading existing solutions. As a thought leader and expert of different technologies, you understand the different approaches we can take and you will provide your professional expertise on architecture (both server-side and client-side) and execution. You will also share your vision on technological opportunities you get excited about.

At XABLU, team is our number one priority. Therefore, you will also provide code reviews and receive code reviews from colleagues. As a team, you will carry the responsibility for the technical architecture, code quality and final deliverables.

Who are we looking for?

You have a vision on where we should move to and how to get there. Your knowledge of both frontend and backend technologies allow you to design both client-side and server-side architecture. You have excellent communication skills and can easily work together with colleagues, product owners and clients. You have an eye for detail and are extremely motivated to fix any bug that might come along. You can develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications. You are intrigued by the possibilities of API’s and microservices. Moreover, you document your code well and invest in technical documentation so the team is always on the same page, also in the future.

We are looking for a grounded person who keeps calm during busy days and is able to reflect this on others. When there is some quick solution thinking necessary, you already have some options in mind and ready to share it with the team. You know how to provide guidance to others, not just because you have the knowledge available but also because it comes naturally to you.

Your Profile

Experience in developing mobile and web applications
Experience with designing the client-side and server-side architecture
Experience with multiple back-end languages (e.g. C#, Java, Python) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js)
Experience with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB)
Team player
Experience with working in an Agile Scrum team
Excellent English (writing and speaking)
Love to talk about (software) technology
