United States (U.S.) Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation. US resident alien family members of US sponsors who are citizens of NATO countries other than the host nation and possess a valid green card and US Social Security Number (SSN).

Duties

Performs a full range of simple cooking by preparing and cooking items that require little or no processing, such as pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers, and fresh or canned vegetables.
Prepares hot cereals and concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces and gravies. Makes cold sandwich fillings. Sets up and replenishes salad bar.
Prepares food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring, or breading. Weighs, measures, and assembles ingredients for regular and modified menu items.
Mixes ingredients according to precisely written recipes. Covers, dates, and stores leftovers according to established procedures.
Disassembles, cleans and assembles component parts and accessories, following safety procedures to avoid personal injury and damage to the equipment.

Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
A one-year probationary period may be required.
Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts to include nights, weekends and MWR Special Events.
Must be willing and able to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.
Must be willing and able to occasionally lift objects weighing over 40 pounds with assistance of others.
Must be willing and able to stand, walk, stoop, reach, and bend for prolonged periods of time.
Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a medical examination.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":

Short order cooking and kitchen experience.
Host/Hostess and cashier experience.
Strong customer service experience.

Applicant meeting the Best Qualifying Criteria/Highly Preferred will be referred to the hiring manager. All other qualified applicants will be referred if requested by the hiring manager.

The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is within the local commuting area. The local commuting area defined as within 100 km (60 miles) of Brunssum, Netherlands. (Spouse Employment Preference (SEP), Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) and Family Member Preference (FMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)

Allowances and Differentials

This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week - whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
Foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), incentives and differentials will not be paid.
