Overview:
Foot Locker is the OG of sneakers. Across EMEA, we are accelerating our omnichannel transformation, strengthening how we connect with our people, our culture, and our brand as much as we do with our customers.
As Manager, Internal Communications & Employer Branding, you own how Foot Locker EMEA talks to its own people, from store teams to head office, and how the company shows up as an employer to the outside world. You translate strategy, culture, and change into communications that reach every level of the organization, including frontline store teams who rarely sit behind a desk. You also build and protect Foot Locker's reputation as a place people want to work, partnering with HR and Talent Acquisition to bring the Employer Value Proposition to life across internal and external channels.
You partner closely with Brand Marketing, HR, Talent Acquisition, Corporate Communications, and Store Operations to make sure what employees hear internally and what candidates see externally tell the same, credible story.
Responsibilities:
-
Define and own the EMEA internal communications plan, aligned to business priorities, brand voice, and major moments (restructures, leadership changes, GTM launches)
-
Set editorial standards and channel guidelines so messages are clear, consistent, and easy to act on
-
Choose the right channel for each message, intranet, email, town hall, manager toolkit, rather than defaulting to one
-
Write and edit leadership messages, company updates, and change communications in plain, human language
-
Translate corporate and marketing initiatives into short, concrete communications that store teams can use on shift
-
Build recurring formats: newsletters, town halls, manager toolkits, that keep corporate and store audiences informed without overwhelming them
-
Own Foot Locker EMEA's employer brand across LinkedIn and other candidate-facing channels, in partnership with Talent Acquisition
-
Turn the Employer Value Proposition into real stories: employee spotlights, culture content, career paths, rather than generic recruitment copy
-
Track how the employer brand is landing (engagement, candidate quality, employee sentiment) and adjust the content plan accordingly
-
Build communication formats that work for store teams specifically - visual, short-form, and usable without a company email address
-
Partner with Store Operations to make sure operational updates reach managers and store teams clearly and on time
-
Gather feedback from the field so internal comms reflect what store teams actually need, not just what head office wants to say
-
Partner with HR, Talent Acquisition, Brand, and Corporate Communications so internal and external messaging stay aligned
-
Build the operating rhythm - calendar, approval process, escalation path - that keeps communications timely without creating bottlenecks
-
Act as the day-to-day communications partner for the leadership team, preparing town halls, all-hands, and change announcements
Qualifications:
- 6+ years in internal communications, corporate communications, or employer branding, ideally in a multi-market or multi-location organization; retail, hospitality, or another frontline-heavy business is a strong plus
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to simplify complex or sensitive topics into clear messages; an additional European language is a plus
-
Experience building employer brand content for LinkedIn and other candidate-facing channels
-
Comfortable writing for two very different audiences, corporate head office and frontline store teams, without losing either one
-
Strong project management skills; able to run multiple communication streams and stakeholders at once without dropping details
-
Experience partnering with HR and Talent Acquisition on Employer Value Proposition work
-
A plain-language writer, allergic to jargon, able to make a complicated update simple without losing what matters
-
Comfortable operating with some ambiguity, including a reporting line that may shift as the function matures
