What to Expect
The Tesla DirectSupply Management team is looking to hire a skilled Supply Chain Material Plannerto ensure on time supply of components, sub-assemblies and accessories at therelevant Tesla service parts distribution centers to support our service needs,at optimal efficiency. This individual must fully understand Tesla’s supplychain and service operations, as well as be an expert on their assigned productor commodities. They will deploy inventory strategies, be responsible forproduct change and associated material planning implications, manage and solveexceptions, and drive supplier execution.
This role involvesdaily management of supply and constraints, status reporting and escalation,supplier engagement and the relentless pursuit of operational excellence andcontinuous improvement. The Supply Chain Planner role requires globalcross-functional engagement within Tesla and across the extended supplychain.
Note: this is aservice supply chain role, not a production planning role.
What You'll Do-
Create and deploy supply requirements to the supply base viaMRP, which achieves service demand, inventory and cost objectives. Ensuredemand from all sources (Tesla Service network, ecommerce, Vehicle Delivery,Engineering, etc.) is captured and a supply plan is created accordingly.

Manage planning system parameters and master data to optimallyreflect supply chain capabilities and plan supply.

Apply analytics and supply chain expertise to manage systemparameters and meet target inventory and service level goals while minimizingcosts and obsolescence.

Build and maintain operational partnerships with assignedsuppliers and internal stakeholders. Act as the primary interface withsuppliers on delivery status, issues and resolution. Escalate to commercial ortechnical partners when required (GSM, accounts payable, quality, engineering,etc.).

Support onboarding and training of new suppliers to ensureoperational excellence and compliance with Tesla’s supply chain processes andpolicies.

Coordinate supplier ramp up and down for new product launches,ensuring suppliers deliver shipments needed to support service/vehicle deliverytargets.

Deliver material coverage, run-out reports and other analyses asneeded. Provide data-driven decision support to the broader organizationthrough what-if and scenario planning (as examples).

Manage engineering changes to minimize obsolete inventory andensure continuous supply.

You will partner with IT and other business stakeholders onplanning process and system improvements.

What You'll Bring-
Bachelors or Masters in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering orsimilar discipline. CPIM or APICS training is a plus. High proficiency inMS Excel (advanced) required.

At least 7 years experience in supply chain management anddemonstrated skills in supplier operational and relationship management.

Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP with a solid understand of discretemanufacturing, bills of material, product lifecycle management, procure to payprocesses and supply chain operations.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability toanalyze data to enable operational decision-making or present clearrecommendations to leadership. Ability of troubleshooting process failures to ensure success forthe program

Demonstrated skills in supplier operational and relationshipmanagement.

Passionate and high energy, with the diplomacy and cooperativestyle necessary to positively influence others, both inside and outside ofTesla.

Candidate will be expected to mentor junior level supply chainteam members. This position relies on experience and judgment to organize,plan, and accomplish department/company objectives with a wide degree ofcreativity, continuous improvement approach, and latitude expected to fulfill avariety of duties.
