QA Engineer front end

At a glance

As a QA Engineer at our grid, you play a key role in realising ABN AMRO's strategy of being a personal bank in a digital age. With your interdisciplinary team, you are responsible for ensuring high quality within a full‑stack DevOps team using technologies such as Java (Spring Boot) and JavaScript/TypeScript.

Your job

Key responsibilities

Define and drive test strategy for web applications (functional & non‑functional)
Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks
Implement and execute end‑to‑end, integration, and regression test suites
Own and continuously improve E2E web automation coverage
Validate frontend integration with APIs and backend services
Ensure quality gates are met in CI/CD pipelines
Perform manual exploratory testing when required
Identify, report, and track defects with clear root‑cause analysis
Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams
Advocate for shift‑left testing, quality best practices, and continuous improvement
Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to QA capability building

The department is responsible for a clear and reliable product and contract administration, which helps to service our clients in the best way possible. In addition, we offer business customers opportunities to optimally manage their working capital by providing our business customers with state-of-the-art liquidity services, like cash pooling.

Being part of the Daily Banking IT team means you are working at the forefront of innovation, while safeguarding the stability of the core systems of the bank which serve many of the processes we offer to our clients. Our teams are multidisciplinary groups of ambitious colleagues working in a DevOps way. They manage the entire IT Development chain enabling fast time-to-market with maximum autonomy. Next to that you ensure -with your team- robust and stabile day-to-day services to our clients.

At Daily Banking we are driven by the advancements in technology. Our IT landscape includes home-built applications, Azure Cloud and Mainframe Platform, RESTFUL and SOAP Web Services, Vue JS applications, interactions with SaaS solutions and more.

Your profile

Must Have

5+ years of overall QA experience, including 3+ years of strong hands‑on web test automation
Strong experience with modern web automation tools such as: Playwright, TestCafe, Cypress
Solid understanding of web application testing concepts (UI, client‑side logic, browser behavior)
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments & DevOps ways of working
Strong proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps pipelines, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
Hands‑on experience with test case management tools (e.g. Azure Test Plans)
Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure

Good to Have / Nice to Have

Experience working in Fintech or regulated environments
Hands‑on experience with performance testing tools, such as: JMeter, NeoLoad, Lighthouse
Knowledge of Accessibility (A11y) testing and WCAG guidelines
Experience with API testing, including tools or frameworks such as: Rest Assured, Karate

Soft skills

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written)
Quick learner with adaptability to new tools and domains
Strong communication, coordination, and collaboration skills
Proactive, ownership‑driven, and solution‑oriented mindset
