Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to design the organisationâÃÂÃÂs computer and network security infrastructure and protect its systems and sensitive information from cyber threats

Do
1. Design and develop enterprise cyber security strategy and architecture
a. Understand security requirements by evaluating business strategies and conducting system security vulnerability and risk analyses
b. Identify risks associated with business processes, operations,
information security programs and technology projects
c. Identify and communicate current and emerging security threats and design security architecture elements to mitigate threats as they emerge
d. Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements
e. Provide product best fit analysis to ensure end to end security covering different faucets of architecture e.g. Layered security, Zoning, Integration aspects, API, Endpoint security, Data security, Compliance and regulations
f. Demonstrate experience in doing security assessment against NIST Frameworks, SANS, CIS, etc.
g. Provide support during technical deployment, configuration, integration and administration of security technologies
h. Demonstrate experience around ITIL or Key process-oriented domains like incident management, configuration management, change management, problem management etc.
i. Provide assistance for disaster recovery in the event of any security breaches, attacks, intrusions and unusual, unauthorized or illegal activity
j. Provide solution of RFPâÃÂÃÂs received from clients and ensure overall design assurance

i. Develop a direction to manage the portfolio of to-be-solutions including systems, shared infrastructure services, applications, hardware related to cyber risk security in order to better match business outcome objectives
ii. Analyse technology environment, enterprise specifics, client requirements to set a collaboration design framework/ architecture
iii. Depending on the clientâÃÂÃÂs need with particular standards and technology stacks create complete RFPs
iv. Provide technical leadership to the design, development and implementation of custom solutions through thoughtful use of modern technology
v. Define and understand current state solutions and identify improvements, options & tradeoffs to define target state solutions
vi. Clearly articulate and sell architectural targets, recommendations and reusable patterns and accordingly propose investment roadmaps
vii. Evaluate and recommend solutions to integrate with overall technology ecosystem
viii. Tracks industry and application trends and relates these to planning current and future IT needs

2. Stakeholder coordination & audit assistance
a. Liaise with stakeholders in relation to cyber security issues and provide timely support and future recommendations
b. Provide assistance in maintaining an information security risk register and help with internal and external audits relating to information security
c. Support audit of security best practices and implementation of security principles across the organization, to meet business goals along with customer and regulatory requirements
d. Assist with the creation, maintenance and delivery of cyber security awareness training to team members and customers
e. Provide training to employees on issues such as spam and unwanted or malicious emails

Resource Expertise Description
The Microsoft Purview Senior Engineer / SME will support customer design activities and provide hands-on delivery support to the partner team responsible for build and configuration. The role requires proven Microsoft Purview design experience, strong engineering capability and practical implementation skills across Microsoft 365, endpoint and broader data protection scenarios. Mandatory experience includes Purview Data Loss Prevention, Enterprise Data Management and core data capabilities such as classification, sensitivity labelling, information protection, audit, eDiscovery, retention and compliance reporting.
Expertise Must Have
- Proven Microsoft Purview design and hands-on delivery experience in complex enterprise environments. · Mandatory hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention across Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, endpoint and relevant cloud scenarios. · Mandatory experience with Purview data capabilities, including classification, sensitive information types, trainable classifiers, sensitivity labels, auto-labelling, retention, audit, eDiscovery and compliance reporting. · Mandatory Enterprise Data Management knowledge, including data governance, ownership, metadata, data quality, lifecycle management and alignment with Purview controls. · Ability to support customer design decisions while enabling the partner team to build, configure, test and resolve defects. · Strong understanding of Purview policy architecture, including locations, conditions, actions, exceptions, policy tips, overrides, alerts and enforcement modes. · Experience implementing discovery, simulation, pilot and phased enforcement approaches that balance risk reduction, compliance and user experience. · Ability to translate regulatory, privacy, security, records management and business requirements into practical Purview configurations and operating processes. · Experience defining governance and operating inputs for ownership, incident triage, investigation, exceptions, escalation, reporting and continuous improvement. · Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 security and compliance administration, including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Entra ID and endpoint integration considerations. · Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain design options, configuration impacts, trade-offs and risk decisions clearly. · Strong documentation skills, including designs, policy standards, control mappings, test scripts, runbooks and implementation roadmaps.
Expertise Nice to Have
Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Sentinel or SOC workflows that integrate with DLP monitoring and response. · Experience with advanced classification techniques such as exact data match, named entities, custom sensitive information types and machine learning-based classifiers. · Knowledge of compliance and privacy frameworks relevant to DLP, such as GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS or sector-specific data handling obligations. · Knowledge of Dutch telecommunications regulation, including ACM expectations, Dutch Telecommunications Act considerations and telecoms-specific security, privacy and data handling obligations. · Experience supporting AI readiness, Copilot readiness, data security posture management and sensitive data risk mitigation for generative AI use cases. · Experience with PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, Purview APIs or automation approaches for scalable policy management, reporting and evidence collection. · Experience integrating DLP controls with broader data protection capabilities such as Information Protection, Insider Risk Management, Communication Compliance, retention and eDiscovery. · Relevant Microsoft certifications, such as Microsoft security, compliance, identity, information protection or Azure architecture certifications. · Consulting experience, including pre-sales support, solution shaping, estimating, delivery planning and executive-level presentations.
