The ESG Data & Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that ESG-related data is complete, accurate and suitable for internal monitoring, external reporting and audit purposes. The role supports compliance with ESG and regulatory reporting requirements by applying established standards and translating them into structured data definitions and processes under guidance.
It contributes to reliable reporting and continuous improvement of ESG data processes, without holding ownership of ESG strategy, policy or governance.
As an ESG Data & Compliance Specialist, you are responsible for collecting, validating, analysing and reporting ESG-related data. You support the organization's ESG reporting obligations and help ensure that ESG information is consistent, reliable, audit-ready and compliant with applicable reporting standards and regulations.
You work closely with stakeholders across multiple functions to support accurate ESG reporting and continuous improvement of data processes.
Collect, consolidate and validate ESG data from internal and external sources, ensuring consistency, completeness and traceability in line with defined methodologies and reporting requirements
Prepare and deliver validated ESG data for internal and external reporting purposes, including required disclosures, with clear documentation of assumptions and calculations
Monitor data quality and identify discrepancies, initiating corrections and improvements to ensure reliable and audit-ready ESG information
Support the application of ESG-related regulations and reporting standards by working with predefined data definitions, KPIs and reporting structures in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
Support internal reviews and external assurance processes by providing consistent documentation and responding to audit-related queries on ESG data and reporting
Act as a point of contact for ESG data-related questions, supporting stakeholders in understanding reporting requirements and data usage
Contribute to the improvement of ESG data processes, including reporting workflows and data quality controls, within established frameworks and guidelines
Actively contribute to the enhancement of ESG data processes, tools and reporting structures, ensuring increased efficiency, reliability and audit readiness over time
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Data Analytics, Sustainability, Finance or Business
Proven experience in data collection, validation, analysis and reporting within a structured environment
Affinity with ESG, sustainability and regulatory reporting requirements
Knowledge of relevant ESG standards and frameworks (e.g. CSRD/ESRS)
Experience with data management tools, reporting systems and business intelligence platforms
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and data accuracy
Ability to work within structured reporting frameworks and follow established methodologies and guidelines
Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Proactive and structured approach to problem-solving and process improvement
Analyses ESG data to identify inconsistencies and improvement opportunities within defined reporting frameworks, applying a structured and methodical approach.
Works effectively with stakeholders across functions such as operations, finance, HR and IT to collect data, align definitions and support consistent ESG reporting practices.
Actively contributes to the enhancement of ESG data processes, tools and reporting structures, ensuring increased efficiency, reliability and audit readiness over time.
