Four Elements Hotel Amsterdam is looking for a Chef de Partie!
Located in the vibrant Amsterdam district of IJburg, Four Elements Hotel Amsterdam is the world's first Zero Energy Hotel. Through innovative use of natural elements and sustainable technology, we have created a unique hospitality experience where comfort, quality and sustainability come together.
Our hotel features 195 eco-friendly guest rooms, a restaurant, a rooftop Sky Bar overlooking the IJmeer, a spacious waterfront terrace and extensive meeting and event facilities hosting up to 200 guests.
We are looking for a passionate and ambitious Chef de Partie who takes pride in quality, enjoys working as part of a team and wants to continue developing their culinary skills in a professional hotel environment.
Job Summary
As Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for your own section within the kitchen and play an important role in delivering exceptional food experiences to our guests.
You will work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to ensure consistency, quality and smooth service across breakfast, lunch, dinner and banqueting operations.
This position is ideal for a chef who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and wants to grow within a professional hotel kitchen.
Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Service
- Prepare and present dishes to the highest standards of quality and consistency.
- Take ownership of your assigned kitchen section.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to recipes, specifications and presentation standards.
- Maintain excellent mise en place and preparation for service.
- Support breakfast, lunch, dinner and banqueting operations.
- Deliver consistent quality during both quiet and high-volume service periods.
Teamwork & Development
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Support and assist junior team members where needed.
- Contribute to a positive and professional working environment.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop your skills.
Kitchen Operations
- Monitor product quality and freshness.
- Assist with stock rotation and inventory control.
- Minimise waste and support sustainable working practices.
- Ensure your section remains clean, organised and fully prepared.
Food Safety & Hygiene
- Maintain HACCP standards and food safety procedures at all times.
- Ensure correct storage, labelling and handling of products.
- Keep workstations and equipment clean and well maintained.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience as a Chef de Partie or an ambitious Demi Chef de Partie ready for the next step.
- Experience within a restaurant, hotel or professional kitchen environment.
- Passion for food, hospitality and quality.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and strong team spirit.
- Good communication skills.
- Good command of the English language.
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary degree or formal chef training.
- Experience with breakfast, à la carte or banqueting operations.
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards.
- Interest in sustainable food practices and reducing food waste.
