What to Expect
Tesla is building a world of abundance and accelerating the transition to sustainable energy is one of the fundamental drivers of this mission. As we rapidly deploy and service our Commercial Energy and Charging infrastructure at scale, we need a strategic, hands-on technical training leader who can build, deliver and lead world-class training programs for the EMEA Energy & Charging Service Engineering and Operation teams.
You will serve as the cornerstone of our training functions in the region, be the primary subject-matter expert for training content development, the first certifier of third-party service providers, and the go-to technical instructor for new and experienced field personnel and partners. You will be the force multiplier who ensures every technician, engineer, and partner has the knowledge and confidence to install, maintain, and scale our systems safely and efficiently.
This is a high-impact, cross-functional role that sits at the intersection of engineering, operations, and learning — requiring deep technical knowledge, instructional excellence, and leadership presence. Your training programs will directly impact uptime, customer satisfaction, and the pace of global energy transition. Since the EMEA training facility is in Tilburg, Netherlands, you will be expected to travel frequently to Tilburg. The role will also require frequent travel across EMEA.
What You'll Do-
Lead EMEA Energy & Charging Training Strategy: Own the planning, localization, and execution of technical training programs across EMEA for Megapack, Supercharger, and related commercial energy systems.
- Develop & Deliver Technical Trainings: Serve as the principal technical expert in creating and delivering a wide spectrum of content starting from new hire onboardings to intermediate and advanced curriculums for engineers, technicians, and certified service providers
- Certify Third-Party Service Providers: Be the authorized trainer to certify 3rd-party CSPs in EMEA, ensuring technical readiness, safety compliance, and contract fulfillment — enabling rapid product expansion.
-
Train the Trainer: Upskill and mentor current regional trainers and technical leads on product theory, field procedures, and instructional delivery. Enable them to teach with greater depth and consistency.
-
Design Hands-On, High-Fidelity Learning Experiences: Develop engaging, practical training content; including exercises, simulations, assessments, and troubleshooting scenarios that are aligned with adult learning principles and real-world field challenges.
-
Own Training Operations: Manage learner progress, attendance, and certification tracking in Tesla’s learning management system (LMS). Report on key metrics such as completion rates, skill proficiency, and field performance impact.
-
Collaborate Across Functions: Partner with field service, engineering, product design, EHS & technical publications to ensure training reflects current product designs, service procedures, and risk controls.
-
Solve Knowledge Gaps at Scale: Proactively identify operational issues rooted in training or knowledge gaps, and design targeted interventions to close them.
What You'll Bring-
5+ years of experience in technical training, instructional design, or adult education, preferably within engineering, energy systems, or field service environments.
-
Demonstrated technical expertise in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) fundamentals and/or high-power DC charging infrastructure.
-
Solid understanding of electrical safety principles, including arc flash hazards, lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE requirements, and safe work practices aligned with international or regional standards (e.g., IEC, EN, or local regulations).
-
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and service documentation.
-
Proven ability to deliver complex technical content clearly and effectively - verbally, in writing, and through presentations to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.
-
Skilled in multiple training modalities: instructor-led sessions, hands-on labs, group facilitation, and digital learning; experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training analytics is a strong plus.
-
Strong problem-solving and hands-on technical skills, with familiarity with field service tools, test equipment, and repair methodologies.
-
Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities, with a collaborative approach across engineering, operations, and program management teams.
-
Adaptable and effective in fast-paced, dynamic environments with evolving priorities and aggressive timelines.
-
Multilingual proficiency (e.g., German, French, or Dutch) is highly desirable to support regional engagement across EMEA.
-
Willingness to travel up to 30%, including occasional international travel.
