As an assistant cook you are part of the kitchen team. You are able to open and/or close the kitchen and perform all different tasks, such as mise-and-place and preparation of the dishes according to planning, fixed instructions and working methods of the breakfast club.
Duties and responsiblities
- Being able to open the kitchen and start operations and/or complete operations and close the kitchen.
- Working at a station (e.g. eggs, pancakes or pass). Ensure all work at this station is done properly and according to guidelines.
- Being able to make all dishes on the menu and prepare mise-and-place.
- Good knowledge of all the dishes. Being able to explain how the dishes are prepared, what ingredients it contains, allergens etc.
- Working according to fixed instructions, plating standards and working methods of the breakfast club. Makes changes immediately if the requirements are not met.
- Ensuring continuous communication with service, especially in the event of special requests, expected problems and/or stagnation with orders.
- Working neat and tidy, ensuring a clean workplace.
- In case there is no dishwasher (available); washing the dishes.
- Receiving and handling questions, complaints, problems, etc. in a good manner. Involving a manager in the event of major problems.
- Working according to safety guidelines, HACCP and working and presentation methods of the breakfast club.
