We are looking for a Global HSE /DG Lead with deep knowledge of EU occupational safety and Dangerous Goods compliance, to strengthen our global operations.
What is your role?
As HSE / DG Lead, you serve as the technical authority for occupational health & safety and Dangerous Goods (DG) across our EU and international distribution network. You work closely with Operations, Logistics, Quality, and Regulatory teams to interpret legislation, assess risks, and ensure our activities meet all relevant EU directives, chemical regulations, and transport requirements.
This is a non-people-leading role in which you influence stakeholders through expertise and collaboration. You translate complex regulatory frameworks into clear, actionable guidance and help build a strong, consistent safety culture across multiple EU countries.
In this role, you act as the key expert driving safe, compliant, and future‑proof operations across our network/across multiple EU countries. This includes:
1. EU Occupational Health & Safety Compliance
You ensure our operations meet the highest EU safety standards. You make impact by:

Being the go‑to expert on EU OHS legislation.

Securing compliance with REACH, CLP, Seveso III, and related directives.
-
Translating regulatory updates into practical procedures.
-
Running EU‑wide safety audits and improving standards.
2. Dangerous Goods (DG) Expertise
You safeguard compliant and safe handling, storage, and transport of hazardous materials. You play a key role in:

Acting as DGSA for ADR, IMDG, and IATA.

Ensuring correct DG product classification, shipment labeling, and transport documentation.

Review new onboarded DG assortment and ensuring DG compliance
-
Managing DG training and supporting inspections.
3. Risk Management & Operational Safety/Environment part
You identify risks early and help create safer, more resilient operations, by:

Leading risk assessments and incident investigations.
-
Driving corrective and preventive actions.
-
Advising on warehouse safety design and hazardous materials storage.
-
Developing and implementing and maintaining dangerous goods management systems,
-
CSR expertise and support
-
Supporting new product introductions with safety insights.
4. Advisory & Cross‑Functional Support
You empower teams across the business to work safely and compliantly. This includes:

Providing regulatory guidance to Operations, Logistics, and Quality.

Supporting ISO 45001 implementation.
-
Representing the company during regulatory inspections.
-
Delivering safety and DG training and driving continuous improvement.
Who are you?
You are an experienced EU Safety and Dangerous Goods professional who enjoys working independently and influencing others through your expertise. You are passionate about building a strong and consistent safety culture across the organization.
You also have:
-
7+ years of experience in Safety and Dangerous Goods within logistics, warehousing, or distribution.
-
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
-
Good knowledge of EU safety, chemical, and transport regulations.
-
Experience working across multiple countries and with different stakeholders.
-
The ability to lead projects and influence people without direct authority.
-
Experience developing and improving safety policies, procedures, and standards.
-
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
-
A continuous improvement mindset and a passion for making operations safer.
Required & preferred certifications/qualifications:
Required:
-
Certified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (ADR DGSA – EU compliant).
-
Valid IATA and IMDG certifications (depending on role scope).
Preferred:
-
A recognised EU safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent).
-
Knowledge and experience in a Seveso company
-
Lead Auditor certification.
