Jeevika Indian & Ceylon Kitchen is a new restaurant opening in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. We will be serving authentic South Indian and Sri Lankan dishes, along with a selection of North Indian favourites such as naan breads and tandoori dishes. A key part of our restaurant concept is the traditional banana leaf meal experience.
Job Description
We are looking for 2 chefs to join our team . The successful candidates will be responsible for preparing authentic South Indian dishes, operating the tandoor oven, and supporting the daily operation of the kitchen.
Experience with Sri Lankan cuisine would be an advantage, but is not essential as training can be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing authentic South Indian dishes, including regional specialties from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka.
- Preparing and serving traditional banana leaf meals.
- Managing daily kitchen operations, including planning, preparation, and service
- Maintaining consistency in taste, quality, and presentation
- Supervising kitchen staff and coordinating workflow during busy service periods
- Ensuring hygiene, food safety, and compliance with Dutch regulations
- Managing ingredient sourcing, including spices and specialty products.
Requirements
- Professional experience as a chef in South Indian cuisine
- Demonstrable experience with: Traditional South Indian cooking techniques (e.g. dosa batter fermentation, spice tempering, regional curries)
- Preparation and service of banana leaf meals
- Experience with north Indian cooking would be an advantage
- Experience managing or supervising a kitchen
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of authentic flavours, ingredients, and preparation methods
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: €2.600,00 - €3.100,00 per month
