About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Director, VESL, EMEA & APAC, the VESL, Fundamentals & Lean, EMEA will be responsible for driving and supporting the use of VES tools across the EMEA locations to drive material and sustainable Policy Deployment (PD) and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) improvements. This position will provide coaching and training to various functional leaders and associates to enable process improvements and sustainment of stronger results using VES tools. This VESL will serve as the key thought partner for site and functional leaders, they will leverage VES fundamental tools, and be responsible for the deployment and sustainment of best practices.
This role will be responsible for our three production sites in Selmsdorf (Germany), De Meern (Netherlands), and Nottingham (UK), and is ideally based close to one of those locations.
In this role, a typical day will look like:

Drive targeted, sustainable improvement in VES key performance indications (KPIs) including kaizen sustainment, certified practitioner funnel, and VES culture.

Lead and execute the daily implementation of VES processes;

Champion the use of the problem solving and partner to identify which VES tool must be applied and when.

Provide coaching and guidance for daily management, standard work and transactional process improvement
-
Audit existing processes and systems to determine actions required for improvements at gemba.

Regularly review performance and partner with leaders to define short-term and long-term VES strategies.

Support in the planning, facilitation, implementation, and sustainment of kaizen activities:

Guide pre-work and sustainment of the Kaizen process and provide training on key VES Tools (Kaizen, PSP, Daily Management, etc.)

Ensure and conduct regular reviews of kaizen charter creation, review, approval, and pre-work that drive successful kaizen preparation, and kaizen sustainment.

Develop VES talent capability and culture development in the VES function:

Coach associates in the use and benefits of the VES toolset and a CI mindset

Provide guidance and coaching to those progressing towards CP status

Mentor future VES talent in application of fundamentals tools (through direct and indirect leadership).
The essential requirements of the job include:
-
Relevant experience deploying continuous improvement and/or VES processes, with a focus on fundamentals (PSP, VMDM, SW, TPI).

Process-oriented individual with passion for detail and experience with organizational change management.

Demonstrated ability to build a plan though the identification of gaps and root causes, then executing on countermeasures and leading through influence. Able to help teams take and manage risk and drive experimentation to facilitate learning.

A ‘Gemba based’ leader who has demonstrated experience working with diverse teams to drive a culture of continuous improvement with an eye towards ‘hands-on’ learning.

Must be able to set and attain goals and initiate actions to resolve problems and improve products and processes.

Proven ability to navigate a matrixed organization and drive outcomes through proactive collaboration and clear, professional, communication with people at all levels across the organization

Must demonstrate the ability to manage by influence and build trust with cross-functional leaders and other VESL’s

Experience in manufacturing is required.

Great computer skills (data analysis, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, statistical tools).

Able to travel 50% of the time
